I was informed today that the DVC cruise points are out. They seem very high to me! Yikes...

Renting points and paying cash sure sounds better by the minute.

I was shocked at how high the week I was looking at was. I was quoted 684 points and the cash price was 4300. Barb

That's about what it's worked out to be the last few years. I haven't seen anything that gave a $7 pp return unless you missed out on the early booking discount AND were looking at a higher level cabin of say 3 or 4. It's usually between $6.25 and $6.75 per point cash value. My cruise last year would have given a return of less than $5 pp compared to the FL resident rate.

minnie33 we will never use our points for the cruise it just doesn't make sence we will rent ours out and pay cash and have spending money left after the fact.

When I called yesterday morn I asked how many pts it would take for DH, DS14 (at time of cruise) and myself for next Aug Western - told about 5-600
Its costing us $4800
Im using this yrs pts for part of this yrs Aug vacation

Where can I find the point chart for the DCL? It wasn't on the dvcmember.com web site?

My DH and I are definately going to rent out our points and use the $$ to pay for the cruise. After seeing the prices and shopping around, there if no way we could or would use points to "pay" for a cruise.

The cruise points are not listed on the website, you must call MS and connect with the cruise representatives.

Since I had to cancel my cruise, I am so glad I rented points to pay for it. The only reason I did this was because of Dean's advice 18 months ago. Did I thank you? I will never use points for a cruise, even if the points were a good value.

I too have checked the DVC website and could not find these. I look everyday for the 2006 points for Grand Californian DLR. When is it likely that these will appear for 2006? As they are not on the website will member services have them?

Many thanks.

Received an e-mail from MS today - the points should be on the member website in about 2 weeks. I asked if they could e-mail them to me and the answer was no. I'm not sure where some of these people who have said they saw the points saw them. :confused3

My thanks is you having the best info you can to make decisions, after that you're on your own, LOL.

I was able to get member services to give me the points needed for a particular week- I did not actually see the charts . They read it to me over the phone. Barb
