I am going to take a cruise next winter. I would like some information and trip reports that would let me know what is special about the special DVC cruise. Does it cost more points than the other cruises? Were there more kids or fewer? How was it different? How was it better(worse)?:D

Have you checked the Cruise Line and Cruise Line Trip Report boards?

It did cost more points, but they also waived the $75 fee so in my opinion that balanced out. They also gave us a gift every night, which was a nice touch.

There were also a LOT fewer kids, and that alone made it worth the extra points, lol! Most passengers used the cruise as a getaway for the adults rather than a family cruise, which was really nice for those of us who travel without children all the time. I think they said there were 200 kids on board, while usually it's 800-1000.

No one knows if they'll have another Member Cruise. Those of us who were on it sure are wishing that they do.:D

It was my 4th Disney Cruise, and I really enjoyed being surrounded by DVCers. Everyone seemed to be just as Disney obsessed as we are.:teeth: :teeth:

One thing for sure, DVCers sure love the Disney Cruise. There was such a large crowd for the Castaway Club reception that they used three rooms to host it. I believe that they said there were over 1000 guests who were repeat cruisers.

We were the first group to charter the ship. There were so many nice DVC touches: special signage, and lots of "Welcome Homes" from all of the staff.

And oh those "goodies"! What a treat it was to find a gift in the stateroom each day.:) :) :)

I almost forgot! We had two days at Castaway Cay instead of one. That was very special.:D

We loved the Member Cruise - for a glimpse of the fun just click on the hyperlink below!

It was definitely worth it.:) Bring on another.:)

Thanks Mike! We are doing the 7 day Western this time which is new for us. I really hope the next Member Cruise is a 7 day. Eastern or Western - doesn't matter. I would just love to have a Member Cruise with some sea days - think of the fun we could have!
