DVC chat?

Has anyone actually gotten the CHAT to work on the dvcmember site? Or is it just something to do with me?

For the past few days, if/when I click on the "chat now" or Chat in the help section on the site, I immediately get a not available and their business hours. So I'm starting to think this section is just plain broken. Unless there is something on either my PC *or* regional settings that doesn't allow it.
 
I am in the same boat. This is the only answer I have ever gotten from the chat.
 
I've used the chat feature twice in the last few weeks (last time was yesterday). I didn't have any problems with it. I was using Firefox as my browser.
 
I've used it several times before, but none recently. I stopped bothering with the chat since every time I ever asked them something their answer was "You need to call member services to do that." So even if chat isn't working for you, don't worry, you aren't missing much.

This has been my experience as well. IMO, all they are good for is answering very general questions and NOT AT ALL HELPFUL with reservations. I don't think the CMs I "chatted" with even had access to the reservation system. He/She couldn't even add a guest or a request to a reservation. For those tasks, I've found sending an email via the CONTACT US link to be the better option. I get a written response in a day or two and know that the task was done correctly.

I have used chat several times, and I love it. I can do something else without having to wait on hold. I will admit though that there have been times when I have gotten the "You need to call member services" line though.
 
I used it last weekend to order extra ME luggage tags and did not have a problem.
 
I love it. I just used it today. I have been able to add names to reservations and take them off. They have answered all my questions which have been quite varied, but I can't remember them now. There were a few days when it wasn't available so I sent an email. That takes a few days.
 
I tried to use it today and once a few weeks ago ... got the same message as OP both times even though it was during their operating hours. Part of me wondered if chat only worked for those in the US. (I'm in Canada.)
