DVC changed ressie number!

Just checked in via the online system and found out that DVC changed my reservation number from the one listed on my confirmation letter. If I had not gone into the DVC member website I would have gone crazy trying to figure out why my original number wouldn't work. Is this common? Never got a notification of a change in the ressie number. Is this part of their computer upgrade? :confused:

Also, the room request choices on the online form were a joke. Asked me if I wanted a refrigerator in the room (we have a one bedroom with full kitchen), close to transportation (we're at BCV, there are no rooms close to transportation), a pack in play (everybody on the ressie is over 16), or ground floor. Obviously these were generic requests that didn't fit the location of BCV or didn't fit the makeup of the people on the reservation, except for the ground floor choice. :cool2:
 
I think many people got new reservation #s when they put the new resorts reservation system in - but that was quite a few months ago.

The room requests like you are describing don't go in that form - whether DVC or Disney reservation. You have to call if you have something specific. You are just looking at the basic 3 or so choices that are included in the system - that are not specific to any resort or room type.

with the latest computer software changes res#s changed to coincide with the new system... additionally if you have a split stay you will notice that the res number is now the same for the whole trip. :thumbsup2

the change isn't something that occurs as commonplace; just a system change thing
 
I guess I will call and make a request for our room. I know that they can't guarantee requests and are not actively encouraging requests, but we would like a certain floor if we can get it. ;)
 

I was concerned about the difference in reservation numbers and called MS when I noticed. They can track the reservations by either number and sent me a reconfirmation email.

I also think they should have sent out new letters/email when the numbers were changed. A bit unnerving.

Once the system updated all my vacation info has been via email now and not regular mail.
