I would like to buy a 150 point contract for the Beach Club Villas. ( I believe in the theory of buy where you want to stay) My question is can I only buy from resale or can I buy from Disney. ( I am not a DVC memeber) I know Disney is pushing Saratoga Springs at this time.
Thankyou all for your time this disboard has been very helpful.

You can still buy from Disney - but you may have to be insistent (the guides will promote SSR) and you may have to wait quite a while. BCV is popular and Disney may not have enough points in inventory to sell you right now.

Consider calling one or more of the brokers and telling them what you want - the good ones (like our sponsor) will call you when a suitable candidate comes in. Disney will treat you the same no matter where you buy the contract. The only advantage to going through Disney for BCV is financing. You'd have to find that on your own (if you need it) and go the resale route.

Best wishes -

I used The Timeshare Store and they were great. However buying directly from Disney can be paid in full on a credit card to get mileage points!

The price through Disney will be $92/point. BCV is the most difficult resort to buy directly from Disney. There are people here on the DIS boards who have been on a waitlist for many months to add on points at BCV for particular use years through Disney. Somewhere here on the DIS boards is a thread where those waiting for BCV points have posted how long they have been waiting.

Call the DVC sales office and explain that you are only interested in purchasing BCV and ask what they have available. If there is nothing available right now, ask if you can be put on the wait list. In the meantime, keep an eye on the resale contracts. The price will probably work out about the same either way (resales are a bit cheaper per point but you have to pay closing costs) but the wait for the right contract may actually be shorter if you buy resale.

Okay, so maybe she was exaggerating in hopes that we buy SSR, but that was what she told me last week. I told her that we were interested in only BCV and she said that there were over 500 current members (or was that 5000) on a waitlist to buy/add-on BCV, and that it might take 5 years before there is anything available for us (as non-members currently). She is really trying to sell us SSR. It is SUCH a good price and we like the extra 12 years, but I'm ultimately going to try and find a BCV resale contract. I'm not sure how the waitlist works and whether you are given a higher priority if you already own a DVC.

There are contracts out there. I was about to buy one at 100 pts but wasn't sure it was going to pass ROFR (small contracts generally get taken by Disney, I hear). Then I saw one the other night for 150 pts. and called the broker right away. I could have taken it but I hadn't heard back from the other broker about the 100 pts., so I had to pass, and it was snatched up right away the next morning. Now I have an offer in on 170 pts., but who knows what will happen. Disney seems to exercise ROFR a lot! Great if you already own, not so great if you are trying to buy at a sold out resort.

Good luck!

My guide did say that other resorts were available to buy Except for BCV at that time (Sept.) because of the waitlist. I check the resale site often and if I wanted BCV I would really watch the list and be ready. You might find a variation on the points that you want but I'd think it would be quicker than through Disney.

There is only one reason to insist on BCV and that is: you must stay there during F&W Fest or have to travel during school breaks. (don't do that by the way it is madness! Take the kids out of school.) I own SSR and almost always stay at BCV. 7 month window is not a problem as some lead others to believe on here. I booked a BWV stay for my brother in May a couple of weeks ago at about 5 1/2 months out. I also booked BCV at that time in a one bedroom with no problem at 5 1/2 months. I know May isn't peak time but it is the best month in Orlando IMO. At least consider SSR, the extra 12 years are nice and the price is right now. If you decide you must have BCV then go the resale route. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi, I sent you a PM.I would also like to say that I just booked BCV about 2 weeks ago for May 20-29 and had no problems at all.I did have to go on the waitlist fo a couple of the days but it came through the following day.
The only time I have not got into BCV was last December but I booked only 2 weeks out but I did get BWV for that time.
