In 2004 I asked my wife if she wanted a swimming pool or a DVC. We bought into SSR in 2005, the best thing I have ever done for my family. Every year we get together for our trip to WDW with my grand children, children, family, and friends. I wish I had bought sooner(we vacationed to WDW every year 10 years prior to buying DVC). With room prices and food prices that keep going up I can look back now and truly say, "What a bargain I got".

Me too!:rotfl:

Only, I first looked at OKW in 1998 and bought into SSR 2005.

We went 12 times in 8 years before we bought - WISH I HAD DONE IT SOONER:thumbsup2

Same here! We had done 7 trips over 8 years before we finally "caught the secret" Best $$ we've spent!

Everytime I hear my coworkers complain about having to spend money on her pool that they use 3 times a year max I am pleased with my DVC purchase.

Everything costs money to maintain and I'm happy to let DVC do it for me:wizard:

i had to learn the hard way.
now im stuck with a large money toilet in my back yard.
wish we started doing Disney earlier in our life.
i would have given dw the same option and maybe saved me some money.
DVC = relaxation for me and the family
POOL= more work for me.

So we actually looked in 1995/1996 -- OKW was what we saw. We heard time share and ran away....circa 2005 we revisited and saw BWV...eventually bought at SSR. We could have taken the plunge in 1995 but didn't trust the sales pitch. Circa 2005 we had the Disboards and we were little more savvy. I love my SSR...and we're going to see AKV, so who knows.....:rotfl2:

:cool1: We filled in the swimming pool in 2002, did Disney for the first time that year, bought into DVC in 2009. I do not miss the pool but really miss Disney. We adore our DVC !! :cloud9:

Looking back you have a great point. I was already collecting info on the Disboards the year I bought. What a great support system we have here.:lovestruc

We were at OKW this past week. The weather was warm and beautiful. We take our family three times a year. We think about buying a house in Orlando but we love having DVC take care of everything. We love our DVC.

Looked at BW in late 90's. I wanted it then, DH said no way, no timeshares. Stayed off property in a trade out thru a friend's timeshare in 99, it was not up to par with what we were used to. DH said, let's look at DVC! Bought in BW in 2000, added on in the early 2000's at AKV. Just added on with current incentive and cast member discount at AKV, bringing it to resale price per point:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We've used DVC only at DVC resorts except for 2x in past 11 years. We are cruising on points in April and did so the first year we owned. Other than that it's WDW we look to go to for most of our vacations, so this was the perfect way to do that for the rest of our lives!:thumbsup2

No regrets here:thumbsup2:lovestruc

I hate to say, but we love both our pool and our DVC!!!!! Both of these things are the best things we have ever done. We put our pool in before we bought DVC and thoroughly enjoy it during the summer months, which is the only time we can use our pool living here in Iowa. We don't go to Florida during the summer months because we enjoy the outdoors at home. We do use our DVC 3-4 times a year though. We just love it. We bought into SSR in 2005 and we bought BLT in 2009. And we wouldn't trade any of it.

We're very happy too! The Cape May house & DVC points are perfect for our extended family. We looked at DVC in '96, bought the Cape May house in '98 and into DVC in 2003. I'm very glad that we did it the way we did. I smile when I'm in Cape May, and think of the house as very own GV, complete with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a loft! Then there's the DVC which DH especially enjoys because it doesn't come with a "To Do" list!:goodvibes

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. I don't ever think I would want to live without a canine friend, and that may be the only way that Cape May beats our DVC, but that's huge in my idea of life. We all share many family vacations in Cape May with ALL members of our households!
