Hello fellow BCers, have any of you purchased Aulani either from broker or on one f the cruise ships? We require a Notary to notarize our signatures. The documents clearly state a Canadian notary is not eligible... who did you use? Trying to work with the US Consulate is pretty much null and void as I can't even get a hold of anybody!

Uggh. i used a Canadian notary for my brokered SSR purchase (and sale). Hawaii has some pretty funky real estate laws though. Can you go to Washington state? Most US banks have a notary with no appointment required.

I wasn't aware about the banks... I'll look into that.

I live close to the border and picked the closest notary that was available on a weekend. It was really fast and easy. I didn't know about the banks either.

We're not far either, did you go to Blaine or Point Roberts? How much did it cost approx -- do you remember sechelt?

I phoned a notary in Pt Roberts yesterday but have not heard back yet.

We bought VGC in 2009/2010 so it's been a few years but I'm pretty sure the cost was under $100. We actually went to Oroville because we lived in the Okanagan back then. I found the smaller town great. They treated me like a neighbour and came in on a day when their office was closed. I had explained the situation on the phone and they really wanted to help me.

Good luck!
