DVC availability: Thanksgiving vs. Christmas

Which week would be likely to have availability inside 1-2 months?

Neither. It's difficult getting either of those weeks unless you book much farther out than 60 days. It's possible, just not very probable. And if you do get one of those weeks, it's unlikely to be all at the same resort and maybe not even in the same size accomodations. You'd probably have to move at least once duirng the week.

Sorry to be so negative - those are two of the busiest/most popular weeks of the year to stay at a DVC resort.

You might as well throw in Easter/Spring Break, October/Halloween/Food & Wine Festival along with Christmas/Thanksgiving.

These times are getting booked further and further out by members. Either to use for themselves and/or family or as a speculation to be rented out.

Plus at 60 days out any remained vacancy can be turned over to CRO to rent out.

I booked Christmas at 11 months out, and still had to waitlist. I am still waiting for 2 nights, Dec 20-21. I booked Thanksgiving at 6 months out, got only 1 night, and waitlisted the remainder of my vacation, which I finally finished getting 31 days before arrival. In short, it's unlikely that you could go at either season just a month or two before arrival. As a teacher, I have done all the holidays, and Christmas is the worst. Thanksgiving is a close second.
