DVC at GF and POLY!

I just heard the news on WDWradio show from Lou Mongello. I hope this is true. Has anyone else heard this?

I've heard a very scant rumor of this maybe a year or more ago. I've also heard that there would be DVC at all Deluxe resorts eventually.

I heard it too and in the show Lou said it was confirmed by someone at Disney. I missed the name, I was so surprised. I'm amazed and would think if this was in-deed announced, it would be big news around here.

Listen to the first 10 minutes of today's podcast and you'll hear it too. Could it be a belated April fools thing?

I usually take everything with a grain of salt so I want to see some confirmation someplace else.

Edited to add the name: He said it was announced by Disney Chief Financial Officer Nick Azara (not sure of spelling) but I Googled Disney CFO and that's not the name of the Disney CFO.

I just downloaded the show and didn't hear that, although I see on his site that he mentions there was a mistake, so it sounds like he may have been the victim of a practical joke or April Fools prank.

I just listend to the podcast on my commute this morning, and was thinking "how in the world did I miss this?!?!"

Seeing what is posted over on his forums this morning, I'm wondering if someone was pulling his leg...

It would be great if it were true! Although I'd have a really hard time deciding where to add-on - I love both the GF and the Poly!

Disney won't confirm DVC at the CR. Despite the fact that it's sitting there for everyone to see. Despite the fact that they've filed public documents declaring it. I'm pretty sure Disney hasn't confirmed DVC at Poly and GF.

At best, somebody has confirmed that they've thought about it or said, "Yeah, we'd like to see that someday."

In the teaser at the beginning he mentioned something about "all the big news from DVC" or something like that, but I didn't hear any. I also saw in his forums that he said if you downloaded it prior to 11:45pm, to delete it and download it again because "an important change was made to the episode after it was originally put up."

I'm guessing he edited the "announcement" out.

My husband did an April Fools to me about this very thing. We are VERY interested in buying at the Contemporary but would be OVER THE MOON at the poly. I won't hold my breath for anything any time soon. If they keep selling DVC the way that they are, I am sure that they will just keep growing and growing.

Unfortunately, this info was bogus. i was emailed by Lou Mongello (host of WDWRadio podcast) and he stated that he was a victim of a hoax given to him, by what he thought to be a reliable source. Someone emailed him with the false info using a trusted source's name. Lou has been known to be a very reliable source of information about all things Disney and I am sure he will try to rectify, to the best of his ability, this situation. After discovering the info was a farce, he immediately removed it from his podcast and re-aired it without the misleading DVC information.

I agree that he has always seemed top notch for good information, but in my first post after I heard it, I was questioning its authenticity and I'm not nearly as "Disneyfied" as Lou is. I'm disappointed that he didn't realize what was happening to him and it really makes me question the reliability of his information. Even I had a pretty good inkling of what was happening as I heard it. He should have too.

I think the explanation from mikeandkarla above shows that "Someone emailed him with the false info using a trusted source's name" which makes me think that it was made to look "official" from Disney or something, so I don't blame him. I just wonder why someone would do that to him?

I don't blame him either. I just find it hard to believe that someone who seems to know as much about Disney as Lou would let it get by him. I heard it and am still amazed he let it on the air referencing a Disney executive's name who doesn't exist. However that being said, I will still listen to Lou's podcast. I enjoy what he does.

Thats to bad.
I would really like to go back to GF.
My first DW trip was my Honeymoon and we stayed 2 nights at GF and 3 at Animal Kingdom.
Our room at GF was a room on the top floor with the dormer over the balcony.
I really enjoyed it.
Gf is just to expensive now to go back on cash or points.

I don't know the guy - have never heard his show. But I do think it reasonable to expect a minimal amount of fact checking - especially before putting out "blockbuster" news.
