Can I do this over the phone on a Saturday?

I just read on the Budget Board that Disney is raising ticket prices SUNDAY! My AP expires MONDAY.... The article does not indicate anything about the AP. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/busi...ice04,0,2235520.story?coll=orl-home-headlines

I went to the members site and clicked on the renewal button... GUESS WHAT? Disney's state of the art website isnt' working

So I may just call tomorrow and see what I can do.l

Oh my! Our AP need renewing, they expire on the 19th, and we get there on the 20th. I figured we'd just go and do it in person, that could be a costly mistake, shucks.

Well, I just spent some time cruising the net and everything I find says the increase is for Magic Your Way tickets. No mention of AP or FL Resident Passes, so I am going to cross my fingers and hope for the best! I will be there 8/26 and wanted to wait to renew then...

New Adult Annual Passport goes from $441.98 to $462.21 (tax included); while the Premium Annual Adult Passport goes from $574.05 to $595.36 (tax included).

So tomorrow I am going to call Disney and see if I can renew in advance! I still can't get the passholder website to work.

If you are lucky you might be able to buy your AP renenewal on line. I was just able to do this at the "old" price!

I have annual passes that expire January 2007. Does anyone know if I renew them today online, are they still good for a full year from 1/07 - 1/08? Also, does anyone happen to know what the price increase would be on the renewal rate?

I was going to try to upgrade two WYW 5-day park hoppers into two PAPs upon arrival at WDW on August 21st. Would they still let me get the value for those if I buy my PAP online to try to beat the price increase? I mean, would I be able to get a credit posted to my credit card for the value of the WYW tickets, or am I way off?

I'd love to get the lower price ticket, but will I be able to use it?

Update: just renewed 2 passes online--DVC AP Park hopper renewal (not the deluxe AP) is $308.85, including tax.

I think I will wait to renew the other 2; they are good till January 07 and the interest that I would pay on my Disney visa would wind up costing more per month than the $20 difference.

We are putting in a new septic this month, so I'm really trying to watch our spending We may wind up banking our points this upcoming year since all our money is now -literally-sunk into our house. (!)

You can only RENEW your AP within 30 days of expiration. What you want to do is buy NEW APs for your trip next year. Our APs expire in January but I just went in and bought new ones, which we'll activate next May.

No. You are going to have to pick one or the other, but they won't refund you on a ticket and in Disney's mind this would be two different transactions.

Are you SURE you want to do this? I have an old park hopper and considering I would only get the value of the ticket I think it's more useful as a ticket on it's own. (Prices going up like they do make it one of my better investments. I paid a lot less per day on it then I would on a new MYW and it never expires!)

Oh well.. I'm still excited that we get such a great discount on the APs. Too bad my timing always seems to be after price increases (or before the discount was first offered....) Looks like my fam of 5 will cost a little more on our Nov trip. I guess I'll eat 2 no way jose's to make my self feel better.

I think that's very good advice. I hadn't really thought it through, I guess.
Panicking about the price increase.

I want to get PAPs because we'll be doing 5 days this month, 6 days in April, and 3 days more in May. And PAPs because we're thinking we'll need lots of waterpark action this month to keep cool, and probably a few times in April as well.

As I posted in the other thread - I'm so confused!!

We have APs that expire October 29, 2006. We have trips planned already for December 06 and April 07, so we plan to get new passes. With the increase tomorrow, however, I'm not sure of the best way to get those new passes, either with a renewal or just buying new APs to activate in December.

My questions:

1 - If our passes expire in October, can we renew NOW? I thought I understood other posts that you had to renew within 30 days and that we wouldn't be able to renew at the old price now, but now I'm confused that someone else has been able to.

1b - In the event that you CAN renew now, the passes are still valid until October of 2007....right?

2 - Is it cheaper to buy NEW passes at the old rate than it would be to renew passes at the new rate in October (assuming we can't renew now)?


We are DVC members, but I'm getting a headache trying to figure out the prices for AP and renews, old and new, to compare.

Any help is appreciated!!

Right, the 30 days is a grace period after expiration during which you can still pay the renewal price although the anniversary date stays the same.

I think you can buy a renewal voucher anytime. WDW never minds accepting money. But regardless of when you buy it or activate it if it is a renewal voucher you keep the same anniversary date.

I ordered my AP renewal at the $290 rate today and my AP doesn't expire until next April, 2007. I"m haing the renewal pass delivered to my home and I used the 4/2007 renewal date when I did the purchase today.

I think Disney is just not following their own "we'll sell you a renewal 30 days in advance" rule. If you think about it, on a normal basis, how many of us would WANT to renew more than 30 days in advance? A price increase is about the only reason I could see for paying for passes so early.
