DVC AP Question

I'll try to make a long story short. Was planning a trip at the end of Jan but then found out that due to my new job, I can't take vacation in Jan. So, poor me , I have to take my vacation in Dec now go a month earlier . I got a really good quote from Dreams Unlimited (not using my points this time as I am saving for a really nice room next time we go) but it is based on an annual pass rate. I have a pass right now, but it expires Oct 23 and I hate to renew and lose almost 2 months even though I would get a $50 discount thro DVC.

So my question is, that after searching and not finding anything on the DVC website (I'm not really good at finding stuff on websites), I was hoping the experts on the DIS boards could help. Are DVC members still eligible for a discount on a PAP and if so, does anyone know what the discount is? We are driving down so stopping at a park before we check into our room to pick up the pass wouldn't be that big a deal.

The PAP discount is $125 off the non-discounted price. If you don't want to stop at a park (and pay parking) you can get your pass at Downtown Disney guest services. It is located in the building behind the Ghiradelli shop. Be sure and bring photo ID and your DVC membership card to get the discount.

You can also order the PAP or AP right on the member website. You'll get a voucher in a few days. Turn in the voucher and then the clock starts ticking on the pass.

Keep in mind that if you don't renew, then you'll be paying the full PAP price (minus discount).

You might want to do the math and see if your renewal rate (with DVC discount) makes more sense since it would be about $40 cheaper.


It all depends on the expiration. Do you plan on going anytime between October 2007 and Dec 2007? If not, then renewing may make more sense and let the renewal expire next year (October 2007). If you'll be going again between Oct 2007 and Dec 2007, then let your current pass expire, and get new 12 month passes this December.

I was planning on going this Dec, next April or May and then probably again in August of next year. The DVC renewal price was $426 but I was thinking of letting it expire and getting a new one because I have 2 1 day tickets from the free dining offer this past August. If I am doing my math correctly, then in would only be $371 for a PAP with the DVC discount and the cost of the 1 day tickets taken off. Based on this, would it still make sense to renew or just to buy a new one when I get down there?

You will only be able to credit ONE of the day passes toward the PAP. I don't believe they will allow you to credt both 1 day passes to the same ticket.

Sorry. After your post, I realized I didn't say that I would be getting 2 PAPs. One for me and one for my DS13. The DVC discount would be good for both, correct?
