I'd be surprised. AP promos typically are not repeated.

One of the best promos DVC ever had with many responding favorably and buying the pass. Afterwards DVD surveyed purchasers to see if pass led to members booking more trips and many responded favorably to that. Thus, it is obviously something that will make large numbers of members happy if it happened again and can even be beneficial to Disney .... As a result, we will probably never see it again.

I could see them not doing it this year because if they then didn't the next year people would perceive it as losing another perk.
They could do it next year as a "Back by Popular Demand" and get favorable reception.
If it is always offered people might not buy it now because they can get it later. When the offer has an end date, more people will buy.
So they could do it every few years.

Doubt it. Run the same promo over a similar timeframe in successive years and a trend is established. Then they risk losing future purchases from individuals who expect the trend to continue.

If nothing else, I suspect they would want to take time to gauge the long term impact of such a promotion. How many people continued to renew the PAP even at full price? To what degree did trip volume drop-off following such a promo?

Doubt it will happen. Usually when people like something that Disney offers they discontinue it, lol!

It may depend if that promo was offered by the Theme Parks (wanting to boost attendance for the FL expansion instead of people going to Cars Land) and/or did DVD subsidize these tickets to sell more points because people took more trips?

If 1) then the deal won't happen until Avatar Land opens.
If 2) then the deal might happen again if the numbers favored DVD.

I really doubt it will be repeated.

Two main reasons I think:

1. Lots of people still haven't even activated their pass from last year yet so they'll wait until those are used up by Dec 31/14.

2. Even though ticket prices went up across the board this year the only one that didn't was the PAP renewal price, it actually went down. I think this was done to entice all of us who bought the PAP on discount last year to just renew it this year. This in of itself tells me no further discount this year.

I think going forward the only discount will still be the discount on the AP that we have gotten for years now. I doubt we see that signficantly reduced one back again for a LONG time...if ever.

Nope, never seen them repeat an offer regarding APs. Of course I would love to be wrong, but not even thinking it's possible.

I was on DCL in July and while attending the usual DVC presentation I asked about this. The DVC rep said he thought they WILL probably offer it again.

Who Knows What EVIL Lurks In The Heart Of Disney Marketing?!

When Disney feels ready to implement their next promotion they will do so. If other recent promotions have been any indication, for about the first month nobody will really understand it and the Marketing people will not have thought out all the ramifications.

We weren't members last year, so I don't know all the dates (just know it was a PAP for $399. We are going Sept 16-23 soooooo if it comes out about the same time as last year, will we be able to get them this year when we go? Or was it something odd such as must be bought between Oct 1-Dec 31?

The $399 DVC PAP promo was announced in September 2012, with purchase dates of 10/1 to 12/31/2012.

Jeez!! I totally missed this promo. We were visiting DL last year so I didn't keep up on my Dis DVC boards. Silly me we have a Christmas trip planned this year....the boys can't wait. The PAP discount would be a God send, with 5 of us savings would be huge!!!
