DVC and the Dining Plan

I was just thinking in the shower at 5 am this morning how screwed up the DDP choices are.

You're obviously more wide awake in the shower in the morning than I am. I could have never figured out the math before having my caffeine. :worship:

We are likely going to be on the DDP for our trip so that we can try it first hand and decide from there if it works for us...that said...If we are on the DDP and friends/family meet us there, can we share a meal with one of them?

For example, I'm on the DDP, my cousin, who lives in Florida, meets us for dinner at a WDW restaurant. He orders and appetizer and drink for himself and I order a meal off the DDP, can I give him some food off my plate and even share his appetizer? I guess, thinking about it, I can. I mean, where not living with the Gestapo.

Can someone confirm. Thanks :thumbsup2

I will not use the dining plan again unless it's a one-night on the quick service plan just to get hold of a refillable mug for a longer split stay.

I'm too spontaneous to want to worry about how and where I am going to use dining credits. I also like eating in a lot of places that don't accept them.

No, you can't. The rules are that you cannot use your dining credits to buy meals for persons who are not on your reservation and using the same dining plan. If you were to pass on a few bites of your dinner, that would probably not cause comment, but if your intent is to just have your cousin order nothing and have him eat off your plate, that's technically against the rules.
