Okay so I know you can add the dining plan up to 48 hrs beforehand and you can pay on arrival.

But my question is, can you add the dining plan and pay before arrival? I would like to pay before hand so I don't have to worry about it when I get there, is that possible? And if not can I just get a Disney gift card in the amount and pay for the dining plan w/ the gift card when we get there?

You can not pre-pay, you can use a gift card.

I wanted to prepay as well.
Where would you purchase a Disney Gift Card? Can I get one for the exact amount of the Dining Plan for 4 adults?
Thanks for the info

You can buy a gift card at the Disney Store. Or a pre-paid VISA/MC from your bank should work, too.

when you book DDP when on DVC do you have to have the same amount of days?
ie. can you have 10 days on the DDP even though you are booked in for 14 days DVC?

it is the exact same amount of days, for every person in your party.

The same basic rules apply for DVC as they do for cash reservations, with the exception of having to buy a park ticket through Disney.

Everyone in the room must have the same DDP; CS, Standard or Deluxe; for the entire length of the reservation. Your option would be to make separate, non-linked reservations, checking-out and check-in back in, and possibly moving to a different room. If they are separate reservations, you can apply the DDP to any or all of the reservations.

The question is, does the inconvenience of changing rooms outweigh having the cost of having the DDP for your entire stay? Remember that the credits for the 10 nights would expire at midnight of the day that you change rooms/reservations. You would not have 10 nights worth of credits to use over the entire 14 days of your stay.

Also remember, since you have a 14 day stay, that it may be to your advantage to buy an annual pass. With an annual pas, you can purchase the TIW (formerly DDE) card for $60. That card garners a 20% discount and almost all Disney table service locations, including adult beverages, for up to 10 people in your traveling party, when dining together on the same check. It is also valid at a very limited number of counter service locations. most notably at the Value resorts and Animal Kingdom park. The card is good for about 13 months form purchase date. Their will be an automatic 18% gratuity added to table service, but I am assuming you'd leave a similar tip anyway.

AAA has prepaid Visa's as well.

Dennis-
Be careful with the prepaid credit cards. Some of them come with monthly fees that are deducted from the balance. If you hold them long enough, you could end up with a zero balance even though you never used it!

hmmm..thanks for the quick replies...I was fearing this..our plan this year was not to the parks and get an orlando flexiplus ticket...and use DDP but not at park restaurants...but i'm thinking we wont be available some days when we are at Busch etc and wouldnt really need DDP for the whole 14 nights
