I need help...

We are staying at SSR 10/8 - 10/13 on points and I was planning on buying the DDP. But Disney VISA members were just offered free dining for that time frame...

So can someone please help me, is there a way for my family to get in on this deal?

And who do I need to call ? I tried member services and I guess that is not who to call.......

Many thanks for the help !!

Never done free dining but I think free dining is only for customers paying rack rate. You can not get free dining on points or with discounted room rate.

Some one correct me if I am wrong please.

DVC members (and their guests and renters) staying on points do not qualify for the free dining promotions.

If you want free dining, you will have to purchase a package from CRO/WDWTC. That includes a ticket for all in the party and in most cases, you would have to pay rack rate for the room.

Since you are within 30 days of arrival, if you cancel your points reservation, the points will go into the holding account. Holding account points expire at the end of the use year, cannot be banked and may only be used to make a reservation that will begin no more than 60 days from the date you make the reservation.

Just like all free dining promotions, this VISA free dining is only available on a cash package, including park tickets and non-discounted cash room.

DVC point reservations are not eligible.

It should read "Disney VISA members were just offered free dining with a MYW room and ticket package for that time frame...". You have to get the room and ticket package through CRO.

AND free dining in November AND December !!!! ?!?
(I just got my e-mail, too)

How long does anyone think it will be until we have year-round free dining offers?

I think we may see the value resorts going to the counter service plan free next year, with that standard plan free to moderates and deluxe, then the following year, maybe the counter service plan at both the value and moderates, with the standard plan free at the Deluxe resorts. But we we'll see. I doubt it'll ever go year round, unless the economy really, really tanks out, families will still go to Disney in the summer.

I am a DVC member and an AP holder ... doesn't that count for something free .... like maybe a free counter service meal? They gets lots of my money already, but can't get any free dining ever if I use DVC or AP. Oh well. I think the sagging economy is hitting attendance numbers at WDW more than people have suspected. :cool2:

You can use the 1 day ticket towards your next AP purchase. I'm surprised they don't require tickets for every night to get free dining.

there r blackout dates, offer stated:

9/28 - 10/11

11/9 - 11/22

12/14 - 12/20

Those are the dates, not the blackout dates. And 10/10 and 10/11 is full! So while it's not "blacked out"

I didn't really expect it to show up, but....

Interesting, I am pretty sure my eamil had a three day stay.

Not a big deal since I have checked online and there are practially no rooms for those days!

i just checked it (mine said 4 nights, 5 days), since i was sending it off to a couple friends jik they didn't get the email from Chase...now i wonder if there is anything left in case they want to go

u have to wonder why they bother even listing the dates if they are so limited in the 1st place:confused3 , would hate to think it's just to churn interest

Just from a selfish point of view, this is NOT good news! We have a trip all planned for October and to think of the restaurants being overrun with people on free dining definitely takes some of the fun out of the week.

Don't panic.

Most of the folks getting this were already going and already had reservations.

Reading the resort board for I see very few "new" bookings. And realistically how many people could plan a big trip with less then three weeks notice? Unless you live within driving distance the "savings" on dining are probably going to be more then eaten up by the high airfare!

We just booked airfare for a trip leaving in 2 weeks and the fare was the best we have seen from our local airport in years! Of course, the airline is discontinuing all service out of the airport at the end of Oct, so these great fares are probably just the last hurrah.

BWV studio was sold out for points but I was able to book the 5 nights on the VISA FD. We had other resort options as well, including WL. The package was still pretty expensive though (a nice reminder of why we bought DVC), so we opted to use SPG points and stay at the Swan instead.
