DVC and AP questions

We just bought BLT and are going in Nov and are planning on buying APs then. My husband is military, would we save any $$ buying tickets on base (NOT military salute tickets) and then upgrading to an AP with the DVC discount when we're there? TIA

I have no idea if the discounted Military MYW tickets are upgraded in the same way as non-Military tickets, or if there are special rules for them.

I'm afraid I may already know the answer, but I thought I'd check anyway. I have 2 One Day MYW passes that I want to upgrade to AP's for our trip in Feb. Do I have to wait until our trip to do that? Or is there a way to do that over the phone or online? :confused3

Upgrades have to be done in person at Guest Relations, either at a park or Downtown Disney.

What about renewing an AP with the DVC discount?
Our current APs expire 9/29. I believe I have 30 days to renew. If I renew our APs on 9/29, will they be valid until 9/29/10 or will the clock start ticking after the first time we use the renewed APs?

A renewal backdates to the expiration date of the original pass. If you won't be using the AP for a month or more after expiration, it is better to just buy a new pass.

what's the difference between the AP and PAP......most wanting to know if there are blackout dates for the AP like the DL ones.

There are no blackout dates on either an AP or PAP. The PAP includes the water parks, and I think Disney Quest. An AP is the 4 major parks. A FL Resident Seasonal Pass has blackout dates.

Prices have increased the last 2 or 3 years in August, prior to that there was no set pattern, Some years had more than one price increase. Some years had no price increase.

Is there an expiration date for the AP vouchers? I've gotten vouchers before, but I never took notice as we usually went within a few months, this time it will be 10 months later.

If I get AP vouchers now (to avoid the price increase) for a trip in May '10 and I go down in October with the in-laws (retired military, so we'll be getting the discounted 5 day passes), will there be any problems with the APs? I guess I'm wondering if there is a way to track you and force you to use the vouchers??

Thanks for any help

My annual pass expires in mid August and I will be at WDW August 1st and wondered if I can apply an unused 1 day ticket ( from past free dining) to get a discounted DVC annual pass voucher before the price goes up? I'm not looking for the renewal price and I don't want to redeem it for a few months as I won't be back until December but want to lock in the lower price now. Can I do that?

Thanks
