DVC Add On credit card purchase question

Disney will also let you split between more than one credit card, so you could put some on one and some on the other. I did this when adding on once. I did deposit + 30 days on the Sapphire Reserve and 60 days and 90 days on Disney Visa.
That is fantastic to know!! & is what I was secretly hoping for ☺️🤩

Thank you, Lorana!!

Just a note on this - In the process of adding on right now and my guide was adamant that the only way to spread payments out beyond 30 days was to finance and repay rapidly. After some back and forth they agreed to let me split into 2 payments 30 days apart and indicated theoretically there could be wiggle room by just a single day or two on the second payment if necessary (I'm just trying to get the charges to hit in 2 separate billing cycles).

Same here. We just signed to add on and they would not let us pay it out over 90 days like they did a few years ago. They said all cash settlements must occur within 30 days.

This is good to know.…it means when I add on VGF points….hopefully…I’ll buy at a strategic time for my CC billing cycle.

I purchased a contract direct on November 29th. 3 payments on my AmEx: first one on 11/29, second on 12/30, and the third will post tomorrow (1/28). Technically only 60 days apart, but three payments manipulated into three billing cycles (statement closes on the 30th).

That's annoying to me, as my guide was inflexible about this and in fact acted surprised that this was ever allowed historically (which I assume was an act).

I did have to cajole him into stretching it out further than the initial schedule. I think they wanted to do one payment mid-December, and the third one after the 1st, and I said that the dates I gave worked better for me. He also offered two payments, but I countered with three and there wasn't any pushback. It wasn't my first contract through him, so the prior relationship may have factored in.

Not my first contract with my guide either :(

Perhaps it is their policy to have all cash within 30 days and they have trained their guides this is the case. However, you could do 90 if you guide goes to bat for you and says you will walk if you can’t do it.

I do know that we added a second direct contract before our third and final payment at day 90 when we first joined and that caused lots of problems for my guide to work around.

These are the 2 cards I’m struggling between. We’re hoping/planning to add on a fixed week at VGF2 once they start sales. I know my hubby would prefer the 0% + 2% that the Disney visa offers (we currently have the free Dis visa, but would obvs upgrade it to the premier prior to a DVC purchase for the extra 1%)… but when I look at the points that could be gotten with the Sapphire Reserve on that same purchase, I know there is (a lot!!) more value there so I’d rather just bite the bullet… it’s a really tough decision!!
If you get the Disney Premier, they also have a $300 account credit for new cards (in addition to the 2%) plus a $100 disney rewards added to the "free" Disney Visa for the recommendation. We did it for our purchase in June and when it was all said and done we got around $900 or so in rewards/credits between the 2 cards PLUS the payments were broken up over several months and 6 months no interest.

Just did a small contract last week and guide stretched it over 4 payments without me even asking.

Same! A little frustrating here as well and a little disappointed in my guide.

I wonder if it has to do with the amount? Letting someone who added on a small contract may be allowed to spread it over someone buying a larger amount?

That very well could be. I plan on adding on 25 (50 if I must) at GFV so we will see what my guide says as Ill insist on doing it over 90 days.

Our first contact back in June 21 was substantially more and it was spread over at least 60 days and perhaps 90, I'd have to look at our contract to be sure.

I think it was not an issue in most of 2021. The reports of being denied are more recent so it could be a change??
