Hi all,

So, my mother is the member in the family. I am an associate on the account. ( in fact, I do all the planning and bookings as she finds it confusing ).

Last week, I got an email as I'm sure many did, talking about the 25th anniversary events. *awesome* in fact, our next trip next month will cover TWO dates the event is on. Even better!

But here's the problem... the reason my mother even HAS dvc is because she likes to bring down a bunch of family. She banks and borrows so we can go down in a big group every couple of years. So this year, we are 18 spread out in 4 rooms. Are they going to give us a hard time about all getting booked? Like are they going to say only the MEMBER can book for her and folks in HER ROOM? Is there any way around this? ( I know in most cases, being an associate doesn't mean anything as far as member-specific perks )

Thanks

All you can do is call and ask. I'm not certain what way this will go but I wouldn't be surprised if they limit it to here room guest or at most 5 total guests. But one never knows.

Most member events are limited to the DVC member and up to 4 or 5 guests. That is generally the rule for any of the events I have heard about (partly because most members have children or such with them so they provide some spaces for those guests).

Well i should say that I DID first call to book (without reading the whole fine print ) and was sort of surprised by the answer and had to go back and talk to my group about it. Here are the facts that I see.

On the fine print, it says up to 5 if you are NOT staying on site. But if you ARE, then as many guests as are listed on your reservation. Presumably, that means 8 because she is staying in a 2 bedroom. But I wonder if a case could be made with member services that no one room can accomodate the 18 people she has used her points to travel with and that we are all staying together at BCV at the same time. but in multiple rooms...

I should add that when I DID talk to member services, she seemed ready to book for 12 ( because there are 12 room villas ). But I had to go back and talk to my people about splitting up.
