DVC 1,000 Point Club (2025)

Nobody else going to share what they do for a living to afford all these points? Did I get too deep in my share and scare everyone off :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Just catching up on this thread here, after spending the morning making DH watch youtube videos on Epic Univ... Prep'ing for later when I tell him I'm getting an UO AP... This coming from someone who's never been to UO...

We are retired DINKS. I was a rocket scientist and he was in database. We are boring folks who live in a modest house by So Cal standards, drive our cars into the ground (my last car was a RAV4 and his was a Corolla, each had 400K miles when we gave them away), no debt (house and cars all paid off), aren't into designer brands, etc. Don't even go out to the movies (my last theater experience was with my friend and her kids to watch live action Beauty and the Beast). My job was stressful, and cuddling my dobermans on the couch was therapeutic.

The lack of two-legged children means we don't have to worry about college funds and leaving an inheritance. I think we were at just over 500 pts for the longest time, then added on more because we wanted a second annual trip to AUL, and of course, when VDH opened, I knew I had to add on, etc. So now it's just more trips, and in one-bedrooms more.

Aulani is really worth 2 trips a year I love it!

Thanks for sharing :)

I'm about halfway there with dreams on the 1,000 point club (if I can get the wife on board!). I'm an actuary in consulting, so it pays very well and has pretty flexible hours outside of a few months a year. I went from 0 to 460 quickly, with plans on another 150 direct once an appropriate incentive hits. Then I also want Aulani to plan out stays there, Beach Club because it's my son's favorite, Riviera because it's amazing (would need to be direct), and Lakeshore Lodge cause I love a lazy river. DVCforless alerts hopefully will help me on my journey!

You will be to 1000 in no time. Aulani lazy river can hold you over til Lakeshore comes along.

Imagine the hysteria and speculation that will ensue if LSL is unrestricted 🤣🤣 i don't think it will be but I'd would sure throw people off 🤣

New VDH? What made you decide to buy there when you already own VGC? No judgement either way just curious!
It’s a unique situation where someone I know in the real world needed out of the contract quickly and so I am essentially taking it over to help them out of a tough spot.

I can’t go into too much detail, but they will function as direct points.

Ah ok. That’s nice of you

Awesome! Will be nice to have that extra studio availability for quick trips!

These two-legged children are keeping me from being in the 1000 point club for sure with college costs! You guys are all inspiring me though to get there someday once we are through paying for college and weddings :lovestruc

I see it as more 1bd every other year and helps the VGC stretch a bit more during high point season.

We shall see. My wife really dislikes VDH at the moment and thinks I bought an overpriced money pit…. we shall see…
The more I stay the more it grows on me, especially since I like nice bathrooms 🤣 The Pixar Pier entrance has really really helped me appreciate VDH more. Although VDH has character theming it still doesn't hit me like the theming at Boardwalk did. The lack of a lobby also sucks.

Boardwalk is pretty fantastic.

I really like Trader Sam’s and Palm Breeze. I’m hoping a few date nights with tasty adult beverages and some live music will give my wife positive vibes…. let’s call it the Olelo Room strategy… 🤣 Fingers Crossed!

Yeah the nice bathrooms. I sold the last add-on to DH as more direct points for hotel exchanges, but in reality it’s for 1-bedrooms 😝
Can’t wait to stay in the 1-bedroom all by myself in August 😇
And the garden studios.

I am trying to book vdh for january thru the rental store and no one bedrooms ugh, how are the studios???

Very few one-bedrooms at VDH. I like the studio. The way the bed is by the window, sofa/murphy in the middle, kitchenette flanking the end, it makes the “living space” feel bigger.
I love the mirror and sink in the bathroom.

I think I'm going to give it a try, hopefully it's still there tomorrow 🤣🤣
