DVA has eaten my money

Ok, not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I am getting the run around from Disney Vacation Account. I have been buying gift cards from sites like giftcardzen.com and raise.com. All of the funds from these cards were transferred to an old card I had on Disneygiftcard.com and then deposited into my Disney Vacation Account. Almost a month after paying off our cruise, suddenly $251 was deducted from my cruise payments and deposited back into my DVA account. Not sure what happened. I went back in and paid the $251 back to the cruise from another card.

The real issue I have is that in my DVA account the balance shows $0, but my calculations show it should have $1000. I looked at the recent transactions on the account and they also show there should be $1000.

I called and was told that I had to show proof of purchase receipts for each card in order for them to determine what happened. I don't get it. If the recent activity shows that there should still be a balance shouldn't it be an easy fix?

I know nothing about DVA but did you HUCA? (hang up call again) Honestly, besides the super-organized, who keeps all their receipts from Disney gift card purchases? What if you didn't purchase it and instead it had been gifted to you? That just doesn't make sense, but from what I've seen on this board DVA customer service often doesn't make sense. Maybe calling back you can get a different rep with a different answer who might be of actual help. Best of luck!

Does DVA not issue out statements? That would help you track down the timing of the mystery deduction if you could review your current balance on your old statements.

Good point-I always receive an email with each deposit! Maybe OP could look at those.

One of my credit cards was just issued a credit from DCL-I think it is probably a refund from port taxes OR fuel costs. This could be a similar reason for your returned money.

Yes, I have all the emails showing the amounts being deposited. I just sent an email to the IT dept. maybe they can explain what happened with the money.

It's possible that one of the cards you purchased from raise or giftcardzen was obtained fraudulently. If it was charged back and canceled, all transactions would be rolled back and your entire DVA account can be impacted. I think we've seen it once before on these boards.
