I noticed a small amount of dust behind the LCD screen protector on my 5D. After a little research, I found that it's pretty common on the 5D's. It's only noticeable when the screen is turned off.

I saw a couple of tutorials where you pull the LCD cover off with a suction cup clean and or replace with a new one. There seems to be a kit you can buy from Canon that comes with a new LCD cover and double sided adhesive.

Here are a couple of DIY examples.

Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

This turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Took about 10 mins.

If you ever scratch, crack or have dust behind your Canon dslr lcd screen protector, it's very simple to replace.

I put my original lcd protector back on after blowing the dust off with my Giottos blower and used the new adhesive tape that I bought.
