Durham/Chapel Hill DISers: free cheesecake today!

At the Cheesecake Factory at Southpoint Mall in Durham.

The first 500 people to donate 2 cans of soup between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. this morning at the Streets at Southpoint get a free slice of Red Velvet Cheesecake. DS and I went by at 7:30 and they had not had too many people come by yet. It's set up in the circular drive area right next to the restaurant. They have 93.9 there giving away prizes too. AND when you donate you get two coupons for a free slice of cheesecake with a $30 purchase.

The food will go to the Food Bank for local distribution. They are trying to collect 10,000 cans before their last stop - I think it's in Washington DC maybe. They will also accept other foods so DS and I took all the rice we got free with HT triples and gave that too.

An article was in the Buzz section of the Herald Sun newspaper this weekend. Also, they are broadcasting from the event on 93.9.

We live just off exit 278 and I work in Chapel Hill so we just left a few minutes early and went on the way to work and daycare. I just hope I can trust my coworkers not to eat the cheesecake

Ahh Chapel Hill...will you go eat lunch at Mama Dipps for me too? I was jsut telling DH last week I need some of her pork chops! mmmmmm!!!!

Okay don't shoot me but I just dont care for Mama Dips. I've been a few times but didnt love it. Didn't care for Breadmans either. And I love meat and veggies. Guess I just didnt pick the right stuff.

No...I won't shoot you! Everybody has their own taste...not a big fan of Breadmans either! I just really miss living near good places to eat...I have to drive 30minutes or more to get to a really good place...only so much Olive Garden one person can take (and I love OG!)
