Just a heads up to everyone.I called this am to switch some of my adrs around.I booked my new choices before cancelling my originals and the CM went all crazy on me about having more then one adr per meal.I told her if she calmed down a minute and listened to me she would realize I was about to cancel the other adrs.My guess is Disney is cracking down now.

THANK GOD!!!!:thumbsup2

:scared: It is infuriating to hear people report on the DIS that they've been holding multiple ressie and then blowing off them without notice etc.:scared:

I just read a couple of days ago about someone who had a bunch of ressie, but blew them off, cause they realized they were more spur of the moment people.

When people hold multiple ressies and / or blow them off, it keeps others from possibly enjoying that dining experience. This is especially true during high volume visiting times.

This has been happening for awhile. I had a mixup with my TA on our 2006 trip and had some things that didn't get cancelled like they should have. When I next called the CM caught it and we went through and cancelled them. She told me at the time they weren't allowing duplicate ADR's. Unfortunately, people still make the effort to find ways to get around it and then make posts telling others how to do it.

I agree with you totally.I am happy that Disney is finally enforcing this.i heard they were cancelling dups on people( my neighbor had it happen in Dec) But I was surprised when they caught it right away.I was just annoyed because I said to the CM up front what I was doing and she didn't listen to a word I said.Just went off on a tirade.

Kevin and I are really spur of the moment people when it comes to dining. Having said that, when we go somewhere we're very upfront and tell them that we will wait for an opening or a cancelation.

We were joking last week about the fact that we're "restaurant crashers". Although, we've never tried to crash Cindy's or HDDR (nor would we ever want to....one experience there was enough for a life time! :rotfl2: )

When we do make a ressie though, we make sure that we modify our schedule to ensure we get to the restaurant.

You can look at it that way....or you can look at it as benefiting the people who dont know that you can make ADR's 6 months in advance. It actually kinda benefits the people who want to call that day, or even walk-ups.

Put it this way. As long as there are no vacancies in the meal than SOMEONE is enjoying the experience. I dont think people who plan months ahead of time are any more important than people who arent privy to the 180-day thing.

Of course I mostly mean this for normal TS...character meals should really be more restrictive.

Well, I suppose that if you try hard enough you can justify anything. First of all, I have been reading that there have been issues with restaurants not being full. When people are calling to get a reservation the computers are showing booked, if they are walking up they are able to get in. You can bet that is why Disney is cracking down, so apparently vacancies are an issue.

And of course, people who plan months ahead of time aren't any more important, they are just more prepared. If you are traveling to one of the busiest travel destinations in the world, it isn't rocket science to assume that just showing up and expecting to be accommodated might be difficult. That applies to anywhere popular you would want to go, from a Broadway show to a nice restaurant in your hometown.

Bottom line, it is inconsiderate that they think they are more important and deserve to have more than one reservation just because it is more convenient for them. There, I'm done now.:)

I did that too but my CM was like, I'm going to book the new one first just in case it's not available. That way you don't lose your other one in case. Once you have the new one, I'll cancel the other one. He was very nice. :)

I had a few multiple dining reservations before and was told that I shouldn't have them. I politely told them that I had cancelled those already.

So I think it's best to check before you go on vacation. I had one reservation that I did not even make and it was on a credit card guarantee. I had made one for the same day for the same restaurant but at a later and when I checked I was told that the CM must have booked both for me. How is that possible? It was for 4pm dinner. I would not have agreed to that.

Also whenever I change a reservation, the CM always says we will book the new one first then cancel the old one just in case.

I would be upset too especially since you told them that you are changing a reservation.:confused3
