Okay, this may sound paranoid, but has anyone had any problems at your originating airport when checking bags with the ME tags on them?
I'm curious is the sky caps are familiar with them. My fear is that they will not know what they are are rip them off thinking they are old baggage tags or something.

For those that have flown out already with tagged luggage, do the airlines seem to know what it is? We are flying out on Southwest, and since they are not participating in the check in portion at the resorts, I'm curious if the skycaps etc at departure airports are familiar with the process..

just curious

Don't think it is a dumb question, actually a very interesting one. Made me go Hmmmm! :scratchin Waiting for any information along side of you.

I had the same fear and used DME last week. I asked the skycap and he said they would not be ripped off as they are more like any other luggage id tag than the coded airline tag. the airline tags are much longer and are white with huge bar codes, much different than the DME tags. When I checked the luggage at the resort to go home, they did cut off my DME tags there. No worries, we had a great experience with DME.

I just got back and used the tags. My bag showed up "magically" in my room within three hours and had both the resort bus tag and the regular airport tag on it. The resort tags are long and thin and not much different than some of the bright tape or ribbons that people tie on the handles to help identify their bags.
