Dumb light fixture question

Ok, this is going to sound dumb but.... we have a light fixture in our hall by our closets. Its a glass dome with silver around the outside...looks like an upside down dome kindof. Anyway, the light bulb burned out and we can not get this fixture off the ceiling. There are no screws or anything holding it up, so we're assuming it either twists and pulls down, or just pulls down, but we dont want to just yank it down and break the light either. Does anyone have a light fixture like this and know how to get it off of the ceiling?

I once had a glass light cover that was threaded and screwed on and off the metal base. Sometimes it would be a little "sticky". You might give it a gentle lefty-loosy turn to see if that's how it's up there.

Is the dome completely glass, or does it have a metal thing in the center? If so, the metal part unscrews.

It sounds like the glass is supposed to twist off. Just be careful. It may come off suddenly and if it's on tight you don't want to break the glass. If you're unhappy with the fixture, they're inexpensive and easy to change.
