I am a major Duke fan and am REALLY excited about tonight's game. Carolina is an excellent team with a wonderful coach so it should be good! I cheer for them when they aren't playing Duke.

DH and I love Duke due to Coach K, the classiness of the players and their ability to accept a loss with grace (although it doesn't happen that often! ;) ). :woohoo:

Go Duke! (from a life-long Duke fan in NC)

I like your Carolina blue smilie. ;)

Go Heels!

Well, Tink... I too am looking forward to tonight's game. But I am hoping my National Champion Tarheels can find some way to overcome the almighty Blue Devils. Duke has no business losing this game, but it sure would be a great win for the boys in light blue.

Go Heels! (From a life-long UNC fan and Duke grad)

i love duke
i started watching them in high school with my dad
laettner, hurlym hill thomas ahh the good old days
doy ou think redick will win player of the year over morrison

I always hold out hope for my Tarheels! (Lifelong UNC fan and alum)

A woman just came in our office with a cast up to her knee done up in Duke blue with Blue Devil and everything. We high-fived and chortled together!
Go J.J. Redick! :cheer2:

GO HEELS!

I didn't know you could do that :teeth:
My husband is a UNC alum and he always says that his favorite teams are the Tar Heels and whoever is playing Duke. He is kind of rabid about it. His whole family went to Carolina as well as grandparents etc...
I assumed Duke fans were the same way.
Last time we went to Chapel hill we went into one of the T-shirt shops and there was a guy in there with a Duke shirt on :scared1: I was afraid for him!!!

GO DUKE!!!! :cheer2:

Our conflict came when Duke and VT played each other. DH went to VT and we both have been lifelong fans as well as DH being a lifelong Duke fan...generally not a problem until VT joined the ACC. The first VT-Duke game of this year even had DH pulling for VT. He said if someone had to beat Duke, he would rather have it be VT. Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be.

Let's just hope it's meant to be for Duke to beat UNC tonight!!! :sunny:

GO DUKE!!!! :cheer2:

Go Devils!!

DD's Godfather went to Duke. DH went to NC State and follows the ABC rule - Anyone but Carolina!! LOL!

Clarabelle -- It is definitely more normal to be like your husband! Whatever team is playing Dook is my second favorite favorite team!

Did anyone see Saturdays Duke/FSU game? Wow! Overtime, 1 referee taken out for knee injury, J.J. had to have I.V. fluids afterwards, Dockery blacked out when elbowed in the head, referees suspended for a game because of the double technical foul, neck and neck most of the game....
Whew!

I agree! I usually don't watch college B-ball until March madness starts, but seeing Duke playing at home is kind of hard to pass by...just something about the setting...kind of like the Yankees in Yankee stadium in the playoffs.

Has any Duke fans ever had a heart attack from all that "jumping" during the game? :yay: :bounce:

stevenpensacola I just thought I would mention that Andy Griffith went to UNC.

As a life-long Duke hater, I have to admit, there is something special about Cameron - that is if you like excruciating heat and finger numbing cold. No, really, it is a neat place.

All the jumping is being done under the brass rail by students. Above the rail are regular seats, and I don't think there is much jumping going on up there. BTW - I think someone did some sort of study once, and all that jumping and chanting really didn't make much of a difference - ie free throw percentage.
