Duggar surprise?

My DD loves the show, but I have no earthly idea why. Maybe because our small, quiet family is the complete opposite of their chaos, and she can't fathom living like they do.

I always like seeing the little kids. Same thing when I used to watch Jon and Kate. I had to give that one up towards the end when Kate seemed to go off the deep end with her control issues.

I don't know. They do have two sets of twins, but no larger amounts of multiples, and one of those sets was only Michelle's second pregnancy, so it was just after they'd decided to stop using birth control. She could be on Clomid, but I doubt it. Someone who's fairly typically fertile, who stops breastfeeding and times their cycle right could easily have kids as often as she does.

Heck, my mom got pregnant with my little brother RIGHT after she stopped breastfeeding my 6-month-old little sister, and she definitely was not trying.

She asked me if I knew which of the kids were closest to her age (10). I told her I'm sure there was more than one.

Just by watching, she thinks it's two of the boys, but I don't remember their names.

What I always find baffling is I have two J's (Jacob and Julia) but none of their children are named either of those fairly traditional names.

She is probably right! Joyanna is the yougnest of the older girls..and then JoHanna is the oldest of the younger..so there is a clump of boys between those. Wow, that really is odd that there isn't a Jacob!! They have got to be running out..Jacob and Julia might be on the list! Both great names, btw

One of the girls said if this baby is a boy, they will have 10 girls and 10 boys.

If each of their kids have 6 of their own, thats 120 grandchildren! I wonder how many Josh will end up with.... he already has 2 at the ripe old age of 23..

I just want to point out in case there are people who don't know that breastfeeding is NOT a good birth control method. You can still ovulate and become pregnant, and that can happen BEFORE you get your first post-baby period.

Our first dog was a black lab named Zachary Jedediah (last name). My MIL tried repeatedly to say "Jedediah" and couldn't. Good thing we didn't name a kid that.

I am just waiting for one of the kids to write a tell all. My bet is Jinger or Johannah.

There are going to be only 2 things that stop her having more babies (and one I wouldn't put it past her trying anyway.
1 menopause (but i wouldn't put it past her to use medical help and donor eggs to get pregnant any way)
2 death
She is so hooked up on the media surrounding her pregnancies that is all that matters. If she was bringing them up herself you might be able to understand it but her buddy system is just using the older kids to do what she should be doing. As for her kids if any of them where unable to have kids I bet she would be telling them they where not living a good enough life or not praying enough.

I just hope that there's nothing wrong with her pregnancy, delivery, and baby.

With that said, I think it's not very responsible of her to have another after she almost died the last time. Why isn't 19 enough? What is missing in her life that she has to fill with all these kids? I think it's time to get a hobby that doesn't include sex.

I still watch the show and DH is just disgusted by them- he INSISTS they are sex fiends (starting to think he is right!) and of course very selfish.

Those older girls arent going to be courting too soon...they are way to busy minding the family, home schooling, cookin and cleaning.

one more thing- just caught part of the Anna and Josh Wedding - how CREEPY is her father saying over and over "Now he is her authority".
That was disturbing.

I agree, I think with that many children, at least one of them will eventually rebel, and will write a tell-all book, and will make the talk show rounds. Then we will know more of what their life was like behind the scenes.

I would be surprised if it was Amy. I may be naive, but she seems to genuinely respect them, and enjoy spending time with them, even if she doesn't agree with them always. I suppose it's possible that she hangs out with them just to be on TV, and will turn on them later for more attention, but I don't get that vibe from her.

Regarding the big "announcement", it wasn't really that surprising. The hype was a little misleading. Something like "the biggest announcement in Dugger history". THis was the same announcement they've made before, so how is it the biggest?
A big announcement for them would be:
Jimbob gets a vasectomy, The kids go to public school, They are forming a dance team, or the girls will be wearing pants.
The fact that they are continuing to do the same thing they have done 19 times is not really that big of a revelation.

This family really bothers me. I am not buying the pictureperfect, sugary sweet life. Something in my gut is telling me something's wrong. I will not be surprised when one of the kids comes out with a tell all and we see an entirely different side to Jim Bob, I think maybe he is very controlling and has her somewhat brainwashed with all this quiverfull stuff. The poor kids have no childhoold, they go from being small kids raised by their siblings to raising younger siblings while mom and dad just procreate.

I can't see that ever happening, how many young men want to marry into that family, unless it is one of the Bates children. She needs those older girls to raise these babies while she makes more. It is so sad, I feel for those girls, they must want so much more for themselves, or at least I hope they do.

I am part of a group of local military wives and you would be surprised how many of them don't know that, because one of them just announced she was pregnant and was shocked because she was breastfeeding.

I learned from an early age, I guess when mom and I had 'the talk' that the easiest time to get pregnant is right after delivery.

I really feel anger and resentment towards Michelle Duggar, she makes women like myself feel so unworthy of living, because we can't have children and her children are a "gift from God (which I believe)", I guess I am not worthy of his gift. She just rubs me the wrong way.
