Anyone have one of the plush Duffys? I was thinking about the My First Duffy & wondering how he compares to just the normal Duffy? Do the costumes fit the My First just like the other Duffy?

& how hard is Duffy to find for an autograph & a pic in Epcot?

There are three sizes of Duffy's. 12" Pre-clothed Duffy's, 17"Duffy's ( this size fits the clothes), and 40" inch (huge).

If you get a pre-clothed Duffy, he will be the 12" inch and the clothes wont fit him.

Thank you! So if I get the My First Duffy, he can only wear the clothes he already has on. They have him up for a little over 1000 points on DMR & I thought it might be a good gift for my 2 yr old son. So, must think on it a bit more....

I can answer some of your questions. My 2 sons are 11 and are not really interested in character photos anymore.......except they still like to do a breakfast or 2 for pictures with Mickey and friends. Phineas and Ferb were the first in a few years they've wanted to stand in a line to meet and greet.

Then for whatever reason my one son decided he wanted a Duffy bear and they were both all about Duffy. He bought the size that's a little bigger, no clothes available. The other kept taking his brother's so I talked him into buying one for himself. It's his favorite trinket of the trip. He bought the dress-able one which is a little smaller, but comes with a disney hoodie. He also bought the sailor suit so he'd have the "real Duffy". Price for both of them was $30 plus tax. I don't remember the my first Duffy you asked about. Sorry.

Then they found out you can meet Duffy. He is easy to find. He has his own gazebo set up right in front of Mouse Gears at Epcot and the times are listed on the daily show guide. We got in line about 5 minutes before the afternoon session and were 3rd in line. So I don't know if he's just not popular yet....or we were just lucky.

He's kinda cute......but I don't get it. But my kids loved him.

Both of my DDs bought Duffy Bears (the one that can fit the clothes) and love them. As for meeting and greeting Duffy, it really isn't that hard. Check the times guide for when he is out. There is a pavilion right across from the Duffy shop (shop between FW and WS). On our departing day last month my DDs both brought their Duffy bears to the meet and greet, Duffy was so excited to see the little bears and it made for some great pictures.

Cute pic!! I read the "story" behind Duffy, it's kind of cute, lol.

I guess if I ordered the My First then I'd know whether DS would be interested in the one you can get & buy costumes for, lol.
I have an abundance of DMR points, I should probably start using them before I 'em! It would be a cute addition to his Disney Christmas gift also.

oops....sorry. Made a mistake. It's the showcase plaza where Duffy is set up. Mouse Gears is the big store in FW. He's right between the 2 little gift shops on the plaza as you enter the World Showcase.

I believe the my first duffy is the 12'' one which comes pre-dressed (i.e. the clothes he wears are attached and cannot be interchanged)

The 12" size comes pre-dressed (usually holiday/seasonally themed) I have the WDW 40th anniversary one where he's wearing a blue hoodie. These are the ones I found most commonly in the resort hotels.

the next size up, 17" is the one that you purchase just the bear and can dress up separately. This size can be found at each pavilion in world showcase, as well as a few stores in Epcot. There is a store dedicated to duffy right before you arrive to the Mexico pavilion and across from his meet and greet). This is the size that the sailor costume comes in, as well as some disney characters costumes (buzz, woody, pirates, cars, etc) and a costume to represent each pavilion in world showcase.

40'' is the extremely large one (i do not think they make clothes for him, but a kids size t-shirt will definitely fit one)

Thanks for all the info! I'm hoping my YDS loves him, lol. I think he'd adore the Buzz, Woody & Pirate costumes! Does anyone know how much the 17" Duffy is? & I'm sure they vary but what's an average price on the costumes?

I went ahead & redeemed some of my DMR points for the "My First Duffy" tonight. We're surprising the boys with this trip in December, so he will go in my youngest's "surprise" box! If he doesn't fall in love, well, at least I'll know, lol, & it cost me nothing but points!

I believe the 17" is around $30 and the costumes vary slightly (usually around $15-$20 depending on the costume). My friend bought her first duffy bear and sailor outfit and it was about $45 total.

I absolutely love the duffy bears, and they have "hidden" mickeys on them which makes them even more special

OK, my kids informed me that the costumes fit both bears. At least costumes without pants.

One bought the 12" bear wearing a hoodie. $30. and the sailor suit. $15.

The other got the 17" one. Also $30. He's currently wearing the hoodie the other son took off for the sailor outfit.

Yeah - it is the 12" that comes in the 2011 outfit. I love my Duffy - he also fits into most Build a Bear clothes. Of course he isn't that popular. On the days that I bring him I am the ONLY person carrying one!! (unless you count "Duffy on a stick")
