DUES Info! - All resorts dues have been released

On the housekeeping/short-stay thoughts, I also have to think that DVC is unique in the percentage of members who live in Florida, and I suspect most of those members primarily utilize their DVC for short stays. Probably a large percentage of VDH/VGC owners who use VDH/VGC for short-stays too. I suspect, for those reasons alone, a minimum night stay will never be imposed.
I live a little less than an hour away from the parks and we use the majority of our points for 1 night stays. We also try to match up those 1 night stays to nights to when there are extended evening hours for deluxe guests.

Its nice to not have to make the drive home after a long park day but If DVC ever decided to implement an extra fee for people that book short stays, we would absolutely sell our contract.

Ok, gift cards acquired. How do I pay dues with them? Is there an option to just pay with a giftcard in the member account portal? Or do I have to call member services? Also, I have like a dozen different gift cards - does that complicate things? I'm really hoping I can just pay my dues online using my gift cards sequentially.
Sorry I have been off for awhile but it looks like many others have been able to supply the answer for you :)

A minimum-night stay policy would essentially make DVC worthless for anyone who lives within a few hours of Orlando. I would wager that this a significant percentage of DVC owners. In that case, the only use for keeping DVC for those owners would be to use at Aulani or HH, which I don't see many people keeping their WDW resort contract just for those 2 resorts. I don't see that policy happening.

I live a long flight away and I would oppose a minimum-night stay policy.

We have two deeded-but-flexible weeks at a non-Disney Orlando timeshare. We can only check in and out on Saturdays. Even many of the area timeshares that have gone to points over weeks have minimum night stay policies. They’ll charge an extra cleaning fee on stays under a week length.

IMO the inflexibility is one of the worst parts of traditional timeshares, and the flexibility with being able to book a single night without paying any sort of fees is one of the distinctions that makes DVC a cut above. Lose that and they’d just be joining the unfortunate trend of “enpoopification.”

Exactly.

Yeah that's a fair point. A lot of timeshare systems make canceling reservations, even reservations that are months and months into the future, a pain as well. The flexibility of DVC is a huge plus.
