What is the gift card strategy that I hear people talk about? I usually pay my dues with my United card and I get 2 airline points per $1. Is there a better way to do it? Maybe get the Disney credit card? Thanks for any advice!
8% is alot, I hope that is tied to the planned maintenance/upgrade schedule and not the new norm to go up that high every year. I do love the resort though!
When people see Disney Gift Cards on sale, they buy them with their CC, and then get both the benefit of that, plus the discounted cards.
Various types of cards. It all depends on the deal at the time. Target credit or debit card is an easy way to save minimum 5% often up to 20%
You can continue to use your united card. My guess is you have the explorer card. Most likely you will only receive 1 point per dollar instead of two (DVC codes as travel with Chase hence 2 points per $) but will save much more by buying the discounted GC. The gift card thread has many active posts of sales by using PayPal and giftcards.com at the moment. Gather as many as you can to help with your dues.

Or a bumper magnet. Or something!
Wait, maybe I’m misremembering but I thought you were moving to Florida? Luckily, you should be able to get those lower tier passes soon as you have your Florida address

Ok, gift cards acquired. How do I pay dues with them? Is there an option to just pay with a giftcard in the member account portal? Or do I have to call member services? Also, I have like a dozen different gift cards - does that complicate things? I'm really hoping I can just pay my dues online using my gift cards sequentially.
If you have multiple Disney gift cards, you can use disneygiftcard.com to combine them, for up to $1,000 total per gift card. Once you combine tham, it's recommended to remove them from the website.
