Well, it’s been 5 days and for 3 of them at two different resorts the ducks are allowed in the pools. It’s ignored. Then, they poop in the pool and we all have to vacate because of swimming with duck poop and the diseases they carry. Can they just be shoo’d off for heavens sake. It’s disgusting to swim with them.

What resort are you trying to enjoy? Blame your fellow guests since they tend to feed the ducks, and as a result the ducks have no natural fear of humans. Where we live the ducks start to quack to warn approaching people and then move away, that is their normal behavior.

SSR and GF. Apparently, they thought it was cute to watch the three ducklings grow up in the pool according to staff. Now the whole family is returning in force. They run up and down under chairs. Then, on into the pool to poop. 15 years and never experienced this.

There's way more than enough chlorine in those pools to take care of the duck poop.

One of my son’s favorite parts of a Disney vacation are the duck interactions lol. We have so many pictures of him talking to ducks that have approached us lol. I’ve always noticed Ducks in the pools (and everywhere else there) and never really thought about it in a negative way. Now when I see them I’ll be thinking about duck poop lol

You really should also think of avian influenza since it spread by wild birds / waterfowl (Ducks), and yes it is the Poop as you call it, and no LOL that spreads the avian influenza.

Avian influenza has been detected in Central Florida as reported by FWC. The risk to public health is still low but not Zero.

I've been staying in Disney resorts since 2006. There have always been ducks in and around the pools.
Someone was terrified of one at CR last summer but she kept throwing it french fries to "get it to go away from her" but of course it kept going back to get more food.
It sat under my lounge chair for quite a while and I had no issue with that because at least the lady was not screeching and feeding it.
Have you never been to a lake or anything? The lifeguards don't scare them away from there either. Sometimes I've even had a family of ducks swim by me in the lake.
I guess I don't see their presence as a problem. I also don't encourage them though.

Most it not all bacteria is killed instantly in chlorine assuming chlorine levels are above 2ppm which just smelling the amount of chlorine coming off Disney pools they have to be. The CDC only recommends closing a pool if there is a sloopy incident or your pool isn't clorinalted properly. Your working about nothing.

It is not about the duck droppings in the pool but the duck droppings on the pool deck and sidewalks that you might encounter....

Just random question. For giggles. If the same person pooped in the pool everyday that required a period of shutdown for a scoop and bio bag removal followed by chlorine contact for 30 min... Honestly, would you still say it’s okay for them to return everyday?
