? DU stateroom gift

Does DU still give a stateroom gift if they have more than 8 bookings on your sailing?We have an extra group res. # on our confirmation and I was told by DU it is beacause they have more than 8 booings on our date.

I do know that the TA at DU did mention that I was part of a group booking because she had to wait till Monday to contact the office to add the REAS to my package.

If I remember correctly, they stopped the stateroom gift quite some time ago.....perhaps late 2003 or early this year.

We cruised in May 2004 and we had a nice stateroom gift from DU. It was a hard box ( the cruise pics fit great in there!) I can't remember exactly what was in it but it wasa plastic Mickey which also held a picture in it and some Disney Picture frames or something. We got the most use out of the box LOL...we packed everything breakable in there along with the pictures from shutters and it kept them all nice.

So you got one recently? I remember reading a while back that DU cancelled it, but great news if they haven't!! Not that it is always expected, but it is always a nice surprise and welcome to find a gift in your stateroom or hotel room!

Yes, I got it in May 2004. It really is nice having a surprise for yourself in the room. MI had sent my daughter a basket from Shirley, my friends husband sent her flowers from shirley, my god daughter had the birthday banner and cake waiting for her and I was so happy to have something there waiting for me when we entered the room!

We cruised June 26th 2004, and had the same gift. It was a very nice surprise. We knew the castaway club gift would be there but totaly did not expect a gift from DU.

Got the box back in Febuarary....

I've been looking for them since for "non-cruise stuff" I don't scrapbook, but I LOVE the scrapbox. If anyone has seen memory boxes like those online, let me know where.

I thought I remembered them sending a note out stating they would no longer provide gifts unless you booked prior to a certain date when their gift policy was in effect. Perhaps you all booked way in advance??

I feel that the rebate dreams gave me was a great gift upfront!

We did not get a gift from Dreams on our April 24 cruise. It was booked more than a year in advance. We did get a gift on our March 2003 cruise.

When I first booked 18months ago they still had a section on the conf. info for the number of cabins booked through them. Maybe we will be lucky and get a gift since they were still giving them when we booked. i guess we will find out soon.
