DTD Reservation tip

So I was able to make my dinning reservations for our trip back at the end of June. I logged on the first thing and tried to get Portobello in DTD for NYE. None available, then I tried Rainforest, not my prefered choice but I want DTD on NYE to avoid the parks. Again none available. I decided to call Rainforest directly as I had to do the same last year during our Oct. trip. Got a ressie. Then I started to think why not try Portobello directly? So I did and yippy was able to get that too . I moved rainforest to a different day. Portobello told me that they only release a few reservations to disney and hold the rest. Not sure if this is specific to DTD but either way, if you don't see the date you want, call them directly. Worked for me

This doesn't work everywhere.

It is definitely not an option for any Disney-owned restaurant, or any restaurant located inside a Disney theme park.

Works only with third-party restaurants that have other options for reservation booking, like Portobello, the Landrys restaurants with the exception of Yak & Yeti, Raglan Road.
