DTD McDonalds closing

DS is autistic, and loves that McDonalds. We always rent a car, so there are others, but I liked to get a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich, then meet the rest of the family there.

My DS is disappointed, :sad2: we we would get soementing from there every trip for him while we would eat @ Earl of sandwhich.

We never went there. Not dissappointed as I can eat at McDonald's everyday if I wanted to. When I'm on vacation I would rather eat someplace "Disney".

I'm much more likely to try Pollo Campero than to go to McDonald's at DTD. I've only ever walked by it on my way to somewhere else.

I can understand that it might be disappointing for those with kids that love a familiar place at WDW, though.

I can get being sad about MCD leaving, except there are others near by. I am TOTALLY excited about Pollo Campero! It is a fantastic "fast food" chicken restaurant. You can still get a nugget happy meal for the kids, but you can get a roasted chicken meal and yucca fries.

We had one by us when we live in DC and love them.

Well even though it's not located in Downtown Disney there is still a McDonald's located in the Crossroads Plaza, which is located across the street in front of the WDW entrance that goes into Downtown Disney.

I am really getting tired of the chain restaurants at DTD. We have Pollo Campero and Rain Forest Cafe in the Dallas area. When I go to Disney I want new and different things. So for that reason I am glad the McDonalds is going but I wish they would have come up with something more original. :)

There is also a Mcdonalds next to the AllStars Resort. So two Mcd remaing should be sufficient.

I go to McDonalds for my coffee.....oh, what will I do??? I won't be close to the other 2:(

I looked online at the menu for the new place and it sounds good, but oh, the carbs in the yucca fries are deadly!

I guess I wont have to NOT go there anymore! :lmao:

Where am I gonna go for overpriced McDonalds food now? j/k folks

I guess I'll just have to suffer with Earl of Sandwich and Ghirardelli's for dessert....

They had a place at MK you could get McDonalds fries and Hot Dogs. Is that still there? I know the McD's at AK is long gone.

I'm glad the McDs is closing. There is nothing magical about McDs to me and it's not food I'd eat at WDW because I can get it every day at home if I want.

It'll be refreshing to have a new cs to try at DTD and it sounds like the food will be good. :woohoo:

OK - I know everyone wants to try new things. However, sometime it was nice to have some "normal" food and/or coffee. When you go to a McDonald's anywhere, you know what you are getting.

This is also disappointing for all those people who have kids that won't eat other things. I took my niece and nephew and McDonald's chicken nuggets were the only thing that would keep them happy.

Personally, I am sad to see them go.

All the McDonald's outlets in the theme parks were converted as of last year. The Epcot Refreshment Outpost location serves Latin-type food, the MK one is now Golden Oak Outpost, the DHS one is now Fairfax Fare, and the AK one is now called TriloBites. All are operated and supplied by Disney itself.
