Does anyone have experience with DTD Hilton and how they handle extra magic hours? I am staying there next week and I know that they are the only DTD hotel that offers the EMH. I just don't know how they work it since you don't have disney key card to show at each attraction.

Thanks

I was told only Disney resorts. It did not include other resorts on the disney property.

Not true. The Swan, Dolphin and Hilton at DTD all participate in the Extra Magic Hours Program (see the Hilton website). I know that the process at the Swan and Dolphin is the same as other Disney Resorts so I imagine that the Hilton is no different. You just show up at the gate with your room card along with your entry ticket.

Enjoy.

Thanks for your response. I know the DTD Hilton does participate but I was wondering how it works once in the park because I thought they no longer used bracelets and you had to show your key to the world card at each attraction, which you don't have if you are at the Hilton. I was wondering if the CMs at each attraction know that the Hilton participates or did anyone run into trouble with this?

You'll be fine. You just show your room key at the attractions during EMH. CMs are trained on what room keys are permitted during EMH =).

We stayed at the Hilton DTD in July and showed our room key to get in for the early extra magic hours. I did enquire at guest services and was told if we in the park for the evening extra magic hours we should just show our room key if asked by a cast member. We were only asked once in Epcot when getting on Maelstrom right after the park had closed to the guests not entitled to EMH. The CM was checking everyone in line. We had no problems or issues. The CM's, as a previous post stated, knew our room key.

Have a good time!

We went the first week of August and took advantage of EMH twice as Hilton guests. The CMs didn't look twice at our room keys before waving us through. As PP stated, the CMs know what to look for, and we had no problems either time.

what were the buses like from that Hilton to the parks? Did they run freqently? Where do you catch their buses when leaving the parks?

They run from the TTC shuttle bus lot on the 1/2 hour or so. We found them to be reliable and just like the Disney shuttles (interior seat layout). It will get crowded when the parks close.

The buses felt exactly like the ones at the Disney resorts! They even had Stacey's "Top 7 Must Sees" playing in several of them!

The buses run every 30 minutes. There is a schedule...one will pick up at 5 after and 35 minutes after the hour, while the other will pick up at 5 till and 25 after the hour.
The buses go to two different parks. One bus drops off at MK and then AK, and the other drops off at Epcot and then Hollywood Studios.

The Hilton is the first to pick up/drop off on that DTD loop.

All of the buses (Disney resort, DTD, etc.) all leave from the same lot(s), but we quickly discovered that the DTD bus stops were furthest away, and usually didn't have shade/shelter, nor did they have benches to sit on.
The buses pick up and drop off at the same stops, so you'll know where to go to be picked up when they drop you off. (I hope that makes sense??)

Hope that helps!!
Feel free to ask any other questions!!

They also have two runs to the water parks and two pick ups from the water parks at DTD Hilton. I can't remember the bus times now but we used the bus transportation for the day we went to Blizzard Beach.

Buses were good for us and mean't we didn't need a rental car.
