DTD busy on Saturday evening?

We arrive on a Saturday and may plan to check in/unpack then go to DTD for a CS dinner/Goofys/explore, will it be crazy crowded..will be mid August?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that DTD is VERY busy and crowded on a Saturday summer evening. Or any day of the week for that matter.

Whether you’re talking about Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim or Disney Springs at WDW in Orlando, yes, Saturday night will be busy.

If you go earlier in the day it won't be bad. The later you arrive in the evening, the more busy.

You mentioned the Goofy Candy Co. That area of Disney Springs I find less crowded. But still busy.

Reminds of me my BIL asking if Magic Kingdom would be busy on Christmas...

We find Disney Springs (assuming that's what you mean) uncomfortably crowded in the evenings every day of the week. And we have been at all times of year.

Earlier in the day is usually better.
