Ok so my dog destroyed my DSLR bag (thankfully there was no camera equipment in it). What do you all recommend for a bag. Don't want anything huge but big enough to carry 2 lenses, body, flash and some misc items. Old bag was one of those shoulder bags that I was not crazy about. Would like a courier bag or a small back pack.

There are so, so many choices. I'm usually a LowePro guy myself, and like their AW bags, which have a built-in rain cover, but am also very fond of my Gura Gear Chobe (be prepared for sticker shock, though), which is messenger style and nearly indestructible.

You can start here for one place to help narrow things down: http://www.lowepro.com/bagfinder

ThinkTank Photo makes another line of bags that's exceptionally high quality, possibly better than the LowePro, but I'm not as fond of for other reasons. I do own a whole bunch of their pouches and accessories though.

My choice for that size kit, however, is a Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home (not longer easily available in the US), which is a shoulder bag but much better contoured than the usual Nikon/Canon shoulder bags, and a wholly different experience to use.

I have 2 bags, a Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home, and a Tamrac Velocity 7X. Out of the two, my favorite for walking around all day in comfort is the Tamrac. It holds my 70D with 18-135 STM attached and extra lens or two, my flash, memory cards, filters, batteries, etc. It also has a system that allows for attaching more accessories. The padded sling is very comfortable. Tamrac has actually d/c'd the 7X, now they have the 7Z.

I like my Tamrac Adventure Messenger 4. I can wear it cross body or on my shoulder. And I can stuff a lot in that thing. My usual small kit that I stick in there is a 6D w/24-105 attached, 70-200, 50mm, 85mm (the bag could probably fit a little more if I stuffed it in there).

I think the OP now has three somewhat different opinions ... so I'll add that I own six DSLR bags and still haven't found the perfect bag. :P

I swap out either the pair of primes or the tele zoom for a 600ex speedlite when I need it because that thing takes up too much room to carry all the time.
Random aside, have you thought about the 270EX? I use an SB-400 (Nikon, obviously) when the bigger ones are too big just so that I still have bounce and my flash still recycles quickly without sucking down the body's batteries, and I love that I can just throw it in, "Just in case," and always have an OK flash.

I just purchased a LowePro Slingshot 302 AW from Amazon. I love the All Weather cover especially this time of year at Disney with all of the storms & showers that pop up almost everyone day with the help of a little Disney Magic.

UPDATE:
I received the 302 and found it to be way too big for Disney so I am sending it back and I have the 202 on the way.

I was wondering what was the issue that made the slingshot 300 to big for Disney. I have been going back and forth between that one and the flipside 300. Do you have enough room in the 200 for gear, ponchos, and other small goodies if you get the 200

Thank you

I have the Slingshot 200. I have found that it is too small for anything more than a small kit, DSLR and one maybe two additional lenses if you don't bring an external flash.

For travelling light around the parks I recommend this one - Case Logic SLRC 205 0r 225 - it has room for a decent size DSLR in the main compartment and one or maybe two lenses in the secondary pocket. It also has a facility to hold a smallish tripod on the front via a clever velcro system as well as a small pocket for remote/cards/spare battery and a really useful little zip flap for a couple of credit cards/room key etc. Very comfortable to wear all day.

Has anyone used the Lowepro Passport Sling III? Right now I have the Lowepro Slingshot 102 and I am looking for something a little different. I have a Sony A57 and I usually travel with my kit lens along with my Sigma 50-200 and Sony 35mm lens. I also use my Slingshot to carry my wallet, cell and external cell charger.

The one thing that I love about my Slingshot is the rain cover. It has saved me a couple of times in WDW.

Would you go with the Passport Sling or upgrade to the Slingshot 202???
