DS "trimmed" his own hair...and is in a wedding on Saturday!

We have a family wedding on Saturday......and DS is in the wedding party (along with DD and me!)........he's been growing out a buzz cut specifically for the wedding....and it's looked weird the past few days. Tonight I took a closer look and he has several patches of much shorter hair in the front. He finally admitted he let some scissors "get too close to his head" in school. The darn kid is almost 11!!!

We made an emergency run to SuperCuts......and it's now shorter everywhere but looks much better. He'll have to explain himself to his grandmother!!!

I'm so sorry but at least you will have fond memories of the wedding when you get older to show him.

When I was about 8 or so I cut my own hair as well. I had really long long curls and decided I needed short hair. Well needless to say I got the scissors (Children's School scissors to be exact) and started whacking away! My mother freaked..LOL....but we laugh about it today.

This reminds me of ME!!! I did that when I was younger too. Mom came after me with a wooden spoon

The sad note is I did it to myself a few years ago as an adult!!! I thought I would try and clean up my sides before a business trip, where I had no time to get it cut. Well, I slipped with the clippers and it wasn't pretty LOL! I had to stop at a hair cut place when I landed and get a quickie before the meeting!!!

I second Serena's sentiments on Tony's post!!




My DD put Vaseline in her hair when she was in 1st grade because I refused to buy her Pantene shampoo to make her hair "silky smooth and shiny" (her exact words!!) It took a good two weeks of excessive shampooing, plus a trip to the hairdresser to get it all out. Lemon juice and Sunlight dishwashing liquid worked best. And yes, I did buy her the Pantene after that!!

My SIL was 6 when we got married. She was our flower girl. About 1 week before the wedding my MIL calls to tell me that she had cut her bangs off!
She was horrified, I laughed. It wasn't a big deal and my hairdresser friend did a great job of disguising the chopped bangs. She looked adorable.
