We need a new dryer. DH gets a supplier discount with Whirlpool, Maytag or Kitchenaid dryers. Thoughts on any of those? Any better/worse than the other?

1. I do not dry 75% of my clothes - most are hung up to dry. BUT, I DO want a dryer for my towels, sheets, and clothes I DO dry! :)
2. I'm looking at dryers now - what is this Electric Dryer w/ steam option?

I can't answer your question about steam, but I noticed you said your hubby gets a discount on Whirlpool. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in March and I love them! The dryer has a "sanitize" setting that drys a full load of towels really quickly - by full load, I mean 5 or 6 bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, plus kitchen towels. I am, so far, really happy with the pair!

Back in May we just got the Maytag Maxima washer/dryer w/ steam. To be 100% honest, I don't think the steam really matters, I never use it. I think it's more useful in washer than dryer. I have used it in washer a few times for stained clothes, some stains came out- some didn't. As for drying, the only time I have used it was for "refresh" mode were I put an item in to get wrinkles out. Nothing really great about it in my opinion.

I would also check out what kind of coupons/rebates you can use/combine: my washer/dryer was on sale already, I got the lowes 20% off moving coupon, a $180 rebate, a $250 rebate, and a $50 rebate. I ended up paying $820 for each one, incl. delivery/extended warranty! I saved hundreds.
