after many a BBQ this past weekend I thought I would try and compare the 2.

Didn't work,:p

Anyone have a preference?

I prefer wet ribs. I like the dry too, but I love the sauce!

Wet this past weekend, but have had a really good dry before.

wet wet wet

dry is a sin in our house!

A good dry rub is hard to beat.

2 whole slabs pork baby back ribs

Dry Rub:
8 tablespoons light brown sugar, tightly packed
3 tablespoons kosher salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon jalapeno seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon rubbed thyme
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Sirius,
That recipe looks a little too spicy hot for me.:earseek:

Dry BBQ, what is that?? LOL, just kidding, I prefer wet. Only had dry twice, one made me sick, the other was just so-so.

It is a little spicy, but the brown sugar cuts the heat quite a bit.

I don't like BBQ but the rest of the family likes wet, my sister will even dip her food into a bowl of BBQ sauce. :crazy2:

personally,, i make home made from scratch bbq sauce that ppl have came to blows over,, the left over sauce gets argued over every time i cook,, but,, i like a dry rub if i'm doing a brisket or riubs even chicken,, i cook dry,, then coat i hate the burnt sugar taste of cooked sauce:L) dry rub i use is (small batch like 1 slab or 1 chicken)

2 teaspons tony chacheries cajun seasoning,
1 tea spoon garlic salt
1 tsp lemon pepper,
1 tsp season all or essence
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper

if you like marinate the meat in mixture of honey and worchester sauce, a lil lemon juice over night, drain well then dry season it and grill,,, to really get a good wet bbq, dry grill maets with rub, place sauce into a large bowl that you can ice down, tupperware thats a bpowl is what i use, get sauce ice cold,, dip hot meats off grill into ice cold sauce, drain then serve. the h ot meat will absorb the cold sauce, and you dont get a burnt crust of sauce on nyour meats. you can place the drained meats back onto the grill to heat the sauce for afew seconds. i learnmed theis from an old man that taught me his secret sauce recipee,, and pl drove for hours to eat his bbq,, he always ended up bbqing atleats 5 hogs , a side of beef several dozen chickens and a dozen goats every fourth of july, we wouldstart a week early and on july 5th it would be gone.

:) :) bbq guuru:):) i love to bbq one these days i may get good atit:):)

Wet or dry?

Barbeque???

I thought this was a different subject. :p

Sorry.

Carry on. :jester:

a good dry is the best, but most dry rubs that i have tried aren't very good.

so i would say dry is my first choice, but wet if the dry isn't good. :p

We cook dry to avoid that burnt outer layer and then put on BBQ sauce during the last 30 minutes or so.

Froggy, your recipe sounds interesting. We'll have to give that a try.

lol i was well known for my bbq till after the wreck,, still cant really handle the smoke right now, this non closing eye lidfs thing getting to me,, lol,, i will probably get my butt back into it in a few weeks, trying now to get everyhting ready for next round of surgery, after that i'll hopefully ber back close to normal:)
