Does anyone know when the Wonder is going into Dry Dock again? I would like to do the Pacific Coast cruise but know people who just got off the Wonder and were disappointed in the condition the boat is in.
Thank you

I find that a bit odd as we have had many many trip reports and no one said anything bad.....I was on her 4 months ago..............She was in great shape..................:thumbsup2

Maybe their standards are a bit high, but they found it creaked quite a bit and that it needs lots of refreshing. Anyone else have thoughts on the condition of the Wonder?

All ships creak....they are supposed to, in fact if they are rolling and pitching...and not creaking...there could be alot of other issues going on!

Our verandah railing needed a fresh coat of varnish, but overall the ship looked fine in January. We've seen worse. Several years ago we were on a vintage ship (not DCL) where the plumbing burped every night. Just part of the ship's personality.

We were on the Panama Canal in January and thought she looked shabby throughout. The crew were doing their best with painting and keeping it looking good, but she sure needs some serious work to get her back in tip top shape.

The Wonder will go into drydock before leaving Vancouver to return to LA this fall.

We were on her last month and I thought she looked great. Granted, there were a few places where we noticed some wear and tear but it was of normal use kind of stuff. In no way did she look like a 12 year old ship. I think that if anyone has a problem with her condition, they will probably be complaining about the Dream next year also. Disney does a great job of keeping the Wonder in fantastic shape especially considering the heavy usage on a daily basis.

We sailed on the wonder 2 months after it's maiden voyage and again last week. She was a beautiful, classy ship the first time we sailed and she still is! I am amazed at how hard the crew members work to keep everything clean and shiny!

We just sailed 2 weeks ago on the Wonder and I thought it was in excellent shape. I didn't see any major need of repair or anything that looked "shabby" to me. I had read some complaints about it and was very surprised at how great everything looked.

We were on the Wonder last week and the ship looked great. Yes, it creaked because it is on the Pacific now, and the seas are different than in the Bahamas. We were rocking and rolling most of the time, as you do in the Pacific. When we were closer to Mexico and the seas were calmer, there was a lot less creaking.

I didn't see anything shabby or in need of repair. The Wonder is still a beautiful ship and maintenance is constantly being done. We saw decks being refinished, carpets being cleaned, paint being touched up, and windows being scrubbed the week we were on her.

We cruised the Wonder on 2/20 and our room (2606) needed a serious makeover. The bedspread was torn, with treads hanging out. The crescent chair had a stain that looked like someone either spilled milk or had an accident on it. The picture frames were dinged up and worn. The shower head had thick calcium deposits, etc. We also smelled a sewer like smell coming from the toilet (as if the seal wasn't complete).

As far as the rest of the boat, I am concerned about the area next to the Goofy pool where people walk down the steps from the hot tubs. They had warning cones but it was extremely slippery and we saw more than one accident.

I also think that they should replace the windows on deck 9 (obviously not cheap to replace). They are very scratched and it was difficult to take pictures or see the sights (Los Arcos, sunsets, etc) through them. We often went up to deck 10 to get a better view. I think it is going to be disappointing to people cruising to Alaska. It is going to be cold cruising to the glaciers on deck 10.

The Wonder is scheduled to be in drydock in Victoria from September 6th - Sepptember 20th of this year and will then sail back to L.A. on the 20th.

I'm booked on the 9/20 that leaves out of Vancouver. Will they be doing the drydock in Vancouver or Victoria? Any idea how we can find out what is on the schedule to be done during the drydock. Would love to report back after the cruise with an update, but... it would help to know what I should be looking for. Any chance the will give us a Remy restaurant ?

14 Days it not a lot of time, Paint and minor repairs it sounds like. Not a major overhaul.

Our family was on the Wonder two weeks ago. Our two cabins were just fine. However, I agree that it is looking a bit worn. What bothered me more than anything were the smells. A constant sewage smell on deck 5 forward. I could not even go to Diversions or the Cadillac Lounge as the smell of smoke was really strong. Couldn't figure that one out as those areas are nonsmoking. Others commented on it as well. Put it on my comment card.

Someone reported a couple of days ago that their bed spreads had been replaced with all brand new red ones. A lot of freshening up starts before the ship gets into the facility. I don't thin there will be anything major, just safety issues and general refreshing. I was on her in January and noticed the cabin bathroom needed some TLC, but for a ship that gets the use this one does, she was in great shape. I can't wait to see her again on the 27th.
