Dropping hints

Well, so far I've been able to keep our May cruise a surprise for our DS5 1/2. I've been dropping little hints though.

Tonight we had dinner out at a restaurant, so I had my purse next to me. In it I had several "Mickey" heads (the paint chip samples from Home Depot)....

I pulled one out and plopped it next to his plate without saying a word.

He looked at it, then at me, and then at his Dad. "MICKEY!"

Then he would name a color, and as if by magic I would pull that color "Mickey" head out of my purse and plop it down next to his plate.

By the end of our rainbow adventure he looked at me and said "Mommy, I want to go see Mickey!" I just winked and smiled.



Not a direct hint, but planting the seed.

We're suprising our DS's (7 and 5) with a 4-night cruise in Feb. We haven't started the hints yet (I plan on a hints during the 8 nights of Hanukkah). But yesterday, my DS5 comes to us with the pictures from last year's trip saying how much he liked the cruise and picking out his favorite pictures. DW and I just smiled . . .

No, we are on the 5/14 Wonder....
(gee, I never thought I'd put a sad face before that statement!)
