Drop a few nights?

If I were to make ressies for 12 nights at a resort then drop, say 5 nights and make a split stay somewhere else, what would MS have to do? Meaning, is it possible to keep initial ressie and just simply drop a few nights?

Yes they can drop at the beginning or the end and modify the original reservation.
