Driving to HS and parking before opening.

After reading about the way the buses are loading and the potential waits for an empty bus or a bus with enough room for our party, we have decided to utilize our rental car more this trip. So we at least want to drive to HS as close to the opening of the parking lot as possible. Has anyone done that first hand? One advantage for us is that we are planning on doing the studios on a Tuesday or Wednesday so it will be just a smidge less crowded than other days, we hope. How quickly does the traffic back up out of the park entrance and does anyone have any advice on what time to get there? We will be driving from OKW so we are not that far away.

I haven't driven but what I've heard is cars are being let into the HS parking lot around 9:10. By then buses are showing up, people who walk over from the Epcot area are already there and the skyliner is moving and dropping off passengers. If you get to the turnstiles before 8:45 you may be turned away.
