Driving to AK for pre-opening brkfst still a problem?

Just wondering if anyone had any recent experiences to share. Is the AK parking lot opening any earlier for those of us with pre-opening dining reservations?

The last two times we tried it (way back in 2007 and 2008), we had 8:05 seatings and the lot attendants didn't start letting cars in until after 8 a.m. Really hoping that has changed!

Assume that the problem is not solved

The current consensus is that you should do your best to get there (not getting all sweaty from the tram stop to the restaurant) and the maitre d' should take your name and seat you pretending that your ADR time was 11* minutes after your actual arrival time or earlier.

An alternate method is to seat you ahead of other ADR parties who either arrived after you did or whose ADR times came after yours.

I am holding off publicizing an alternate method until I read about anecdotal evidence that Guest Relations was unable to satisfy guests who ran into problems.

So the restaurant has made accommodation for this issue but the parking lot attendants have not. Inneresting. Thanks for the assurance that we will still get seated. We don't have any burning need to be out by rope drop since one of the adults can just zip over to the Safari FP machines at 9 a.m.

wednesday this week

parking lot not open until 7:30 am

8:20 ressie

lots of "bus" people when we got to gate

person checking ressie ...verification, then line up to get in

through gate and checked in for 8:20 ressie by 8:01, they took us right in

of course, everyone's mileage will vary


on a side note:

safari fast passes do not open until 9 am exactly but front gate rope drop people were allowed in at 8:54 to the ride
