We're doing our first DLR trip in August. I've reserved a car (as there are four of us and it's only a tiny bit more for the car than to arrange transportation). Is it easy to drive from SAN (Orange County Airport) to the Grand Californian hotel? Is parking easily available if you are a hotel guest? Is there a fee? We are staying concierge this trip if that make a difference. Thanks in advance for any help.

The drive is no problem, maybe 20 minutes. You would take the 405 North, to the 55 North ( I think you can exit John Wayne Airport and get right on the 55 North), to the 5 North exiting on Harbor

You have two options for parking, they have self parking across the street from the Grand Californian or they have Valet on property.

I can't answer about the cost of either

Hope you enjoy your trip

I believe the self parking fee is part of the $12 +tax /per day resort fee. I doubt this would include valet, but maybe.

The parking for the Grand Californian Hotel is across the street (short walk). When you arrive at the Grand Californian, drive up to the hotel to check in. You are allowed courtesy check-in parking. This way you can just unload your luggage and register at the hotel. You'll then be given a piece of paper to put in your windshield. This will allow you to park across the street.

Parking is included in the package price, and is part of the resort fee ($12+tax) when you have a room-only reservation. Valet is extra at $17 per day, I believe.

Have a blast! It sounds like you and your friends will have a really wonderful and fun time.
I like your avatar, the Pug is just so cute, and so is your other little dog.

Have a fun and safe trip!

Thanks for the info.

Mary Jo, Thanks for the info. We are using our DVC points for this stay. Does anyone know if this 'resort fee' is something extra we'll have to pay for?

Gisele, We are WDW veterans and initially our kids (21 & 18) weren't thrilled about going to DL as they have heard it's smaller (only two parks, etc). Now they are really excited! The 'other' dog is our 'first grandbaby' a beagle but she'll be moving out soon, since our ds and dil are buying their first house. But we've already filled her 'spot' with an Old English Bulldog, just need to update my siggie, lol.
