HI
IS IT REALLY NOT RECOMENDED TO DRIVE ON THE I4 WHEN YOU FIRST ARRIVE? IF SO WHY?
WE LAND AT SANFORD AND THE I4 WOULD MAKE OUR JOURNEY A LOT QUICKER, BUR MY DAD SAID WE SHOULD STAY WELL CLEAR

THANKS :moped:

My Dad Says That Is Very Wide (lots Of Lanes) And Extremely Busy All The Time

There are two routes from Sanford, the I-4 and the Florida Greenway toll road.

The I-4 route is the most direct and easiest to get to from the airport. But it does get busy at peak times.
The Florida Greenway is a bit more difficult to get onto, but it's quieter. You do need to make sure you have some change for the tolls though :)

We chose the toll road on our first trip and missed our exit and got lost :rotfl2:
The signs aren't that good and don't really warn you when a junction is coming up!

If you can handle a UK motorway in heavy traffic, then you should have no problem with a US freeway. Speeds are generally slower. You just need to know where your going and keep an eye out for your exits :)

THANKYOU

MAYBE MY DADS JUST WORRIED ABOUT HIS LITTLE GIRL AND GRAND KIDS. IF ITS JUST LIKE A UK MOTORWAY I THINK I MAY IT A GO

If you land at Sanford on a weekday and will be on I4 between 4 and 6 pm, then I'd say your dad's advice was spot on. If you do go with the Greeneway, then try to get a map in advance and familiarise yourself with your route and in particular the exit you need.

The I4 is busy but I certainly wouldnt avoid it. It is the quickest and most direct route from Sanford and there is no reason you shouldnt use it.

Any idea how busy the I4 is on a Sunday evening. Would normally use the Greenway but I am almost convinced by this talk. I suppose it depends upon where my villa is though.....

Touch wood!! Never had any problems on I4,no busier than most UK motorways, just be aware that in the US cars can undertake but as long as you keep your wits about you i wouldn't forsee a problem!

Don’t worry…I4 isn’t too wide…now coming into Atlanta from Chattanooga at rush hour is when things start to get intense!
