Driving I-95 From Maine

Hi Folks, With airline flight prices being high, and more people opting for driving to the Orlando area. The DIS has started putting out information to help you make that drive easier.

To add to the information we already have given, I am going to start a thread for each state that Interstate 95 runs through. These threads I hope will be responded to by folks that know what is the best tips to help make the drive from their State specifically.

Please note these are tips that may work for some people and not for others. Lets see what we can come up with.

Long and boring thru Maine. Best tip.........don't fall asleep and watch out for the deer and moose esp. at night. Anyone who lives here though already knows that. Lots of construction on the interstate for many miles.

While I understand your goal is to provide local information to drivers, I do want to impart one thought: splitting the trip betewwn driving & flying might be most economical...particularly with gas at $1.80/gallon.

Folks can drive to major hubs: for Maine, try Boston or Providence. I drive to NY; flights are then ~$150.00 if you play with days/times. Quite frankly, it would cost me probably $200 to drive...

But to your point...Connecticut....stay out of here. Highways are a nightmare. There's actually a Connecticut DOT web site to warn of construction. Best bet: Parkways...through New Jersey. No tractor trailers either.
