Driving from WDW to Port Canaveral

Drove this route twice recently. The easternmost toll on 528 is now $1.25 rather than $1. Total is now $5.25 each way, two $1.50 tolls on 417, one $1.00 toll on 528 and one $1.25 toll on 528.

yes I see that on the toll calculator today ... I seem to recall some mention about this 'gonna happen soon' in the paper a while back ..... since I have a pass I seldom pay attention.

Thanks for the detailed update. This is exactly I was looking for. Let's hope it doesn't go up yet again by summer time! Oh, for those that are local, have you heard any update on when CFX operated toll roads will begin accepting EZ Pass (not E-Pass)? I started a thread over in the transportation forum and no one seems to know.

Is there a way to save a thread iso of watch? This information is very valuable for me but we are first traveling in September. We are also driving from WDW to Port Canaveral for the Disney dream. Normally I’m a control freak but in this case I would actually prefer to take the DCL Bus but we have a car rental anyway so financially it makes no sense and two we find the DCL buses arrive too late for us we want to be early on board
At the top right of the page is a link "Watch thread". Click on that. Then, later, when you want to find it, also at the top of the page, in the light blue bar is "Watched threads".

I think there is a reason toll operators make cash booths inconspicuous/inconvenient!

The toll roads in the Orlando area have more than adequate signage to indicate where to pay. Those that miss the series of gigantic signs above the highway (and the one that shows that one is entering a toll road to begin with) aren't paying attention.

No one says you have to take a toll road. Take I-4 to Colonial Drive and head east to get to the port. It'll take you forever, though; you might leave the night before your cruise and stay at the beach if you're going to do that.

I second everyone that says to avoid I-4 at all costs.

However, I would take SR528. I've never seen it crowded at all. However, be aware that it is a toll road and is a very long stretch of road without any (bathroom) stops.

If we take 528. What exits or towns are best for a quick stop for wine to bring on board? Or is better make this run still at Disney? We are staying at BC and not sure if shopping near WDW is back tracking getting on 528.

Also feom this thread cash tolls still possible? We refuse to pay the per day sunpass fee by car rentals

Bump. Which Exit/town Off 528 is the most convenient to get off to do some quick shopping at either a Walmart or a target? Also can anyone confirm that toll lanes still are available with cash payment thanks

You can take Narcoossee Road south, past SR 417, and there will be a Walmart on the right. If you're leaving the airport with a rental car, it'll save you time to take the south exit directly to SR 417 and then north (actually driving east at that point) to Narcoossee Rd. If coming from WDW, get off SR 417 at Narcoossee and turn right; after shopping, hop back on SR 417 and head to SR 528.

There are cash lanes on SRs 528 and 417, but not all of them are manned. Mainline plazas are manned; entrance and exit ramp toll booths are not. You'd need exact change for the latter.

Mouse fan, If you are coming from WDW property the 417 junction with 528 is east of most options, so the choices to stop along the way are over in the Cocoa area. The better option may be to head to Celebration from property and then jump on 417. There is a CVS and a Publix along 192. There is easy access to an entrance onto 417 is just beyohnd the Publix.

there is a WALMART Supercenter (2700 Clearlake Rd, Cocoa, FL ) and a Publix grocery just south of 528 at the Industry Rd exit, just west of US-1 as you approach the port. There are no tolls at this exit .... easy off and back on. This is about 10 minutes from the port ....

tolls on 528 from the 417/airport interchange to the port are now...

one $1
one $1.50

at both plazas (keep to the right to pay cash) there are attended and exact change lanes.

10 quarters gets you thru and no waiting for the folks who need change or decide to ask 20 questions at the attended lane ....
