Driving from Oklahoma next weekend

This is our first time driving in from Oklahoma. We will be taking I-40 to I-15 at Barstow. Whats the easiest way from there? Will be coming in on Saturday evening. I know the traffic is going to be rough anytime but looking for advice to make it as easy as possible. Thanks for any help....

Well I'm certainly no expert, but when we drove from Texas (we stopped at the Grand canyon) then we took the 15 south from Barstow (40 merges into the 15), then west on the 91 and south on the 57 until you see the Katella exit.

A local expert may have a better idea, but this worked for us. Also, we intentionally timed it where we'd hit southern CA in the evening, so as to minimize traffic. Coming in on a Saturday evening may be a very good idea.

Thanks for the info... Really looking forward to getting there. Hopefully the traffic isn't too crazy. Don't see that kind of traffic in NE Oklahoma.

Coming from Okla to calif, please remember to yeild to merging traffic while on interstate or expressway. In calif you will make room for traffic merging onto expressway or interstate. In midwest it is the opposite, merging traffic has to yield to traffic already on/in traffic lane. Just a little heads up from someone who travels a lot. Have a safe trip.....

We are driving from Oklahoma to Disneyland and leaving either Thur even or Friday. I just wanna make one suggestion based on our last two trips.
The first year we went from Kingman through Needles and into Barstow. It was miserable. Last year we took a little detour and drove north outta Kingman into Las Vegas then down to Barstow. I enjoyed last years drive much more.
That drive from Kingman to Barstow through Needles is terribly hot. Only one place to stop (a very crowded Dairy Queen).

I'd much rather drive in L.A. than Tulsa.
